All four drugs are in a class of wildly popular weight loss drugs known as GLP-1s. In the United Kingdom, authorities last year seized hundreds of counterfeit Ozempic pens — insulin pens that had been relabeled as Ozempic. Counterfeit weight loss drugs have serious health risks, according to the pharmaceutical companies and federal officials. Counterfeiters are already trying to cash in on a weight loss drug that the company hasn't even put on the market yet: retatrutide. But it's also one of the epicenters of the lucrative counterfeit drug trade, according to U.S. authorities who track counterfeit drugs.

In reality, a federal judge, not Smith, made the decision to release that filing to the public. After hearing opposition from Trump's team about the redactions Smith's team suggested, Chutkan reviewed the brief and ultimately decided that the redactions were appropriate. Chuck Rosenberg, a Justice Department veteran and NBC News legal analyst, said Smith's team was doing things by the book. Litigating that case is an obligation of the Smith team and not a violation of Justice Department guidelines," Rosenberg said. "In any event, the Smith team properly sealed its filing.

MILWAUKEE — Former President Donald Trump has never stopped propagating falsehoods that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. “The Democrat Party is guilty of the Worst Election Interference in American History,” Trump wrote Wednesday on social media after the judge overseeing his federal election interference case in Washington released a redacted filing from special counsel Jack Smith. Trump’s campaign did not provide a response to questions about his repeated use of the “election interference” label. It’s part of an extensive pattern of false election-rigging claims from Trump — beyond his well-documented lies about the 2020 election. He was among the 139 GOP House members who objected to the 2020 election certification.

Lee Im-jae, the former chief of police in Yongsan District, the area in central Seoul where the disaster happened, was the most senior police officer to be found guilty of a crime related to the shocking tragedy. In a statement, the company said it was no longer operating, extended its condolences to relatives of the victims, and noted it has cooperated with the Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board investigations. Neubauer said the testimony gave important insight into the potential motivation in Rush and his company. Peter Girguis, a Harvard University professor and oceanographer who monitored the hearing, told CNN evidence of Rush’s ego-driven approach and heedlessness to repeated safety concerns appears to loom large in the disaster. Specifically, the letter alleged the language on OceanGate’s website was “confusing and misleading” and implied the Titan was “classed,” meaning certified to industry standards. The letter took issue with OceanGate’s decision not to try to get the Titan classified.

HOUSTON — A former Houston police officer was convicted Wednesday of murder in the deaths of a couple during a 2019 drug raid that revealed systemic corruption problems within the police department’s narcotics unit. A jury found Gerald Goines guilty of two counts of murder in the January 2019 deaths of Dennis Tuttle, 59, and his 58-year-old wife Rhogena Nicholas. Goines looked down and did not visibly react as the verdict was read in a Houston courtroom. Goines’ attorneys argued during the trial that the first to fire at another person was Tuttle and not police officers. The probe into the drug raid also uncovered allegations of systemic corruption.

Follow her on Instagram, Facebook and X.CNN —One of the increased dangers kids could face on social media this week comes from an unexpected source: their parents. On National Daughters Day on Wednesday, many parents will share pictures of their children on their social media feeds. But “sharenting” — when parents share pictures of their kids on social media — comes with potential risks to children. An even scarier prospect is the possibility that photos parents post could attract the attention of criminals. The parents I have spoken to across the country often tell me they are worried about what their children are doing on social media.
