Election bets were approved legally just weeks ago, as the 2024 race headed into its home sprint. The ongoing legal wrangling could still lead to a shutdown of U.S. election betting markets, but not until after the 2024 vote. The CFTC permits only U.S. residents to use the newly opened election betting markets, meaning many bettors on the platforms are also potential voters. Nonetheless, Adam Cochran, founder of venture capital fund Cinneamhain Ventures, says he worries about how voters perceive election betting odds. Mansour acknowledged it’s a “fair concern” that the general public might mistakenly see betting odds as the size of a candidate’s lead.

Julian Quinones/CNNFormer Trump administration officials have outlined the speed at which they intend to dismantle the progress the Biden administration made on climate change. Trump has publicly distanced himself from the ideological blueprint, but CNN found at least 140 authors worked in the Trump administration. But given the momentum of the clean energy train, some experts and analysists doubt that Trump would be able to derail it entirely. While the green trend in economics now has Republican states like Texas leading the nation in clean energy installations, Germany, Japan and China got there first. Trump’s plan is to undo that progress, throw billions of dollars of clean energy investment out the window and give other countries the economic opportunity, instead.

Morgan Stanley is introducing a new portfolio for investors tied to the most prominent sports leagues. Morgan Stanley is hoping to change that. Many women start experiencing menopausal symptoms during those years of perimenopause, such as irregular periods, fatigue, sleep disturbances, hot flashes and weight gain. For most women, periods don’t stop suddenly, although there are exceptions when menopause is induced by surgery or certain medical treatments that stop ovarian function. Perimenopause is the several years preceding menopause, so the most common age for women to begin perimenopause is in their 40s. CNN —Private sector hiring blew past expectations in October, another sign that the US labor market remains on solid footing, payroll processor ADP reported Wednesday. Non-governmental employers added 233,000 jobs in October, a sharp acceleration from the 159,000 net increase reported for September, according to ADP’s latest National Employment Report. Wednesday’s gains throttled economists’ expectations for job growth to slow to a mere 108,000 jobs from the initial estimate of 143,000, FactSet estimates show. Pantheon Macroeconomics is sticking with its forecast of 100,000 payroll gains, according to an investors note sent Wednesday. And while a resurgence in the labor market could raise concerns about a reacceleration in inflation, October’s ADP data showed otherwise, Richardson said.
