Exercising at specific times of day could lower colorectal cancer risk, a new study found. Colorectal cancer rates have fallen since the '80s, but have risen in under-55s by 1 to 2% yearly since the mid-'90s. Previous studies have found that people who exercise regularly have a lower colorectal cancer risk than those who don't. After five years, 529 of the participants were diagnosed with colorectal cancer, also known as bowel cancer. "Every movement counts for reducing colorectal cancer risk, meaning that doing any amount of physical activity is better than none," Orange said.

Asian American support for Donald Trump was 5 points higher this election cycle than in 2020, marking a slight shift to the right. The NBC News Exit Poll of early and Election Day voters indicated that 54% of Asian American voters chose Harris, while 39% voted for Trump. LGBT voters shifted even more solidly into the Democratic camp this year, according to the NBC News Exit Poll. Harris led President-elect Trump 86% to 12% among LGBT voters, the poll found. As in previous elections, LGBT voters stood out as one of the most left-leaning voter blocs in the electorate. Among LGBT voters, Democrats vastly outnumber Republicans, 56% to 5%, and liberals surpass conservatives, 61% to 5%. LGBT voters are staunchly pro-choice: 59% say abortion should be legal in all cases, a much higher level of support for abortion rights than among non-LGBTs, at 31%.

But the balance of the evidence from the NBC News Exit Poll suggests that Trump owes his victory to more common, less polarizing factors that drive many elections year in and year out. That included a striking shift of Latino voters into the GOP column compared with 2020 — they backed Trump by 13 points more. Women broke for Harris, 54%-44%, while men favored Trump, 54%-44% — a gap in support amounting to 22 percentage points. Republican Bernie Moreno, a Colombian immigrant who became a high-profile Cleveland car dealer, has unseated Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, NBC News projects. Republicans flipped another Democratic-held seat in a state Trump carried easily, West Virginia, on Tuesday and were aiming to capture another in Montana. CNN spoke with over a dozen senior Harris campaign aides both in the Wilmington, Delaware, campaign headquarters and on the ground in the states, as well as multiple volunteers and local elected officials, over the course of the final weeks of the race.
