The political arm of Everytown for Gun Safety plans to spend $9 million to boost Democratic candidates in state legislative contests in five states, the group's first investment in such races this election cycle. “So much of the national progress we’ve made on gun safety can be traced back to pioneering laws passed at the state level,” Everytown for Gun Safety President John Feinblatt said in a statement. “Over the last few election cycles, Everytown has built a winning playbook for electing gun sense champions in key state legislative seats in order to flip chambers and pass life-saving legislation,” he added. “Saturday Night Live” has set its first batch of hosts for Season 50, including Ariana Grande, John Mulaney, Michael Keaton and more. Grande will host “SNL” for the second time on Oct. 12 with musical guest Stevie Nicks. Coldplay will join him in the band’s eighth appearance as musical guest. Grande will lead “Saturday Night Live” ahead of “Wicked,” coming to theaters Nov. 22, as Fleetwood Mac icon Nicks returns after her first “SNL” performance in 1983. “Saturday Night Live” will celebrate its 50th season with a live primetime special on Feb. 16.

CNN —“Saturday Night Live” will have a slew of famous faces to help kick off its historic 50th season when the show returns later this month. Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan are among the stars that have been announced to host or appear as musical guest on “SNL” this upcoming season. This season of “Saturday Night Live” will also see the return of guest player (and “SNL” alum) Maya Rudolph, reprising her role as Vice President – and Democratic presidential candidate – Kamala Harris. CNN previously reported that Rudolph is set to portray Harris through at least the end of the election cycle. A movie about the first-ever episode, titled “Saturday Night,” is slated for nationwide theatrical release next month.

New York CNN —Elon Musk is using his social media platform to promote misinformation about the presidential candidates in the lead up to the November election, amplifying false claims Wednesday about a Trump rally bomb threat and immigrants eating pets in Ohio. Then on Wednesday, Musk reshared a bogus claim that a bomb had been discovered near the site of a planned Trump rally in Long Island. Musk’s own post has been earmarked with a crowd-sourced “community notes” fact-check that makes clear the claim was false. X did not respond to a CNN request for comment Wednesday on Musk’s posts. Musk is far from the only figure spreading false information on the platform, though he is easily one of its biggest voices.

"Whether it be flows into REIT ETFs or just the broader ETF market, that's going to be a real potential catalyst here to watch." Total assets in money market funds set a new high of $6.24 trillion this past week, according to the Investment Company Institute. "If that yield comes down, the return on money market funds should come down as well," said State Street Global Advisors' Matt Bartolini in the same interview. "Assuming stocks don't experience a massive pullback, I think investors will continue to allocate here, and ETF inflows can break that record," he said.
