Sam's ClubGRAPEVINE, Texas — When shoppers walk into Sam's Club's newest store, they'll soon see a shiny blue Mercedes-Benz SUV, a sectional sofa and zero checkout lanes. Sam's ClubSince Walmart's founder Sam Walton opened the first Sam's Club in 1983, the membership-based club has become the more tech-savvy arm of its retail-behemoth parent. Nicholas said upon its reopening, the location will become a testing ground for Sam's Club's newest features and emerging technology. Sam's Club and Costco have roughly the same number of U.S. clubs, but Costco pulls in about twice as much annual revenue. Sam's Club also opened The Clubhouse in August, an approximately 37,000-square-foot office building across from the retailer's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The lowered outlook is the latest from Germany's car giants, with Mercedes-Benz and BMW both downgrading their annual forecasts earlier this month as a result of weakening demand in China, the world's biggest car market. Volkswagen said it was cutting its outlook "in light of a challenging market environment and developments that have fallen short of original expectations, particularly at the brands Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Tech. Political organizations supporting Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are touting both campaigns' messages of “freedom” as they woo Latinas, a key voting bloc. Against Hillary Clinton in 2016, Trump won just 28% of Hispanic women voters compared to Clinton’s 67%, according to Pew. Also, at least 13 states saw increases in Latina voter registrations when Biden left the race and endorsed Harris, according to TargetSmart CEO Tom Bonier. Republican Mercedes Schlapp, one of the “Latinas for Freedom” organizers, said the issue of abortion is one for states to decide. In many ways, F1 Academy is a spiritual successor to W Series, an all-female racing series that shuttered in 2022 because of financial problems. Where F1 Academy differs is that it has the financial backing of Formula 1 and buy-in from the sport's constructors, with each team sponsoring F1 Academy drivers. "F1 Academy is a really friendly environment and a bit different to when I've been in male paddocks with mixed competition.
