Trump said in his speech that he had held a meeting earlier in the day with Muslim leaders. He was joined onstage by what his campaign described as “prominent leaders of Michigan’s Muslim community,” including Imam Belal Alzuhairi, who described Trump as the “peace” candidate. “We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace – he promises peace, not war,” Alzuhairi said. A banned Kurdish militant group on Friday claimed responsibility for an attack on the headquarters of a key defense company in Ankara that killed at least five people. A man and a woman stormed TUSAS’ premises on the outskirts of Ankara, setting off explosives and opening fire. The assailants were also killed in a subsequent battle with security teams and more than 20 people were injured in the attack. Its defense systems have been credited as key to Turkey gaining an upper hand in its fight against Kurdish militants. Meanwhile, police in Istanbul detained at least 35 people suspected of links to the PKK, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

CNN —A military law enforcement investigation is still ongoing into the incident at Arlington National Cemetery when an employee was reportedly pushed by a member of former President Donald Trump’s campaign. An Army spokesperson previously said in August that the service “considers this matter closed.”The Army on Friday released a highly redacted police report filed in August by the employee. “The law enforcement investigation into the incident remains open and we are therefore unable to provide further information at this time,” an Army release including the report said on Friday. In one photo that was shared online the grave of Army Master Sgt. Marckesano’s sister, Michele, said in a statement that while they supported the families of the 13 fallen “in their quest for answers” regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal, the Trump campaign “did not adhere to the rules” of Section 60.

CNN —Armed assailants launched a deadly “terror” attack on Turkey’s state-run aerospace company near the capital Ankara on Wednesday, government officials said. At least five people were killed and 22 injured in the “terrorist attack” on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters in the outskirts of Ankara, said Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
