A Miami man pleaded guilty to distributing as much as $25 million worth of misbranded and adulterated HIV drugs that were dispensed by pharmacies across the U.S. to unsuspecting patients, federal prosecutors said. Herrera pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Miami on Monday to one count of conspiracy to introduce adulterated and misbranded drugs in the U.S. market, court filings show. Prosecutors said the wholesalers were involved in the criminal scheme, but the pharmacies were unaware that the drugs were altered or misbranded. BERLIN, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Roche (ROG.S) inadvertently published positive lung cancer drug trial data from an interim analysis, boosting the Swiss drug maker's shares even though more data will be needed to confirm the treatment's efficacy. Roche said on Wednesday that market participants had made it aware of the inadvertent disclosure of an interim data analysis on new immunotherapy tiragolumab, part of an experimental class of drugs known as anti-TIGIT. The data lifted Roche shares by 5% and sent shares of other companies testing anti-TIGIT drugs higher. J.P. Morgan analysts said the interim data suggested a survival benefit was within reach in the final analysis, but the clinical relevance remained uncertain. The unintended disclosure regards the second interim analysis of a Phase III trial known as Skyscraper 1.

New York CNN —At least two brands have said they will suspend advertising on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, after their ads and those of other companies were run on an account promoting fascism. Spokespeople for NCTA and pharmaceutical company Gilead said that they immediately paused their ad spending on X after CNN flagged their ads on the pro-Nazi account. Hours after the Media Matters report was published Wednesday morning and CNN observed additional brands’ ads running on the account, the account appeared to be suspended. “Media Matters and other observers have documented how X has remained a dangerous cesspool of content, especially for advertisers,” Wednesday’s report states. Media Matters says it has also documented instances of brands’ ads being placed next to content from Holocaust denial and white nationalist accounts.
