Work can often become a welcome distraction for people who aren't ready to discuss the dysfunction in their partnership. "I think if someone is obsessed with their work and not home a lot, it has more to do with their relationship than their work," she says. 'I felt neglected'In a culture that prizes professional success, it can feel counterintuitive to tell your partner to work less. If you wanted to take no sick days and work 100 hours a week, you could. There is also the other side of the coin: a partner who isn't working enough or isn't pursuing a lucrative career.

Instagram's new app, Threads, has dominated the discourse around Meta since its July 5 launch. With the launch of Threads, Instagram and its top executive, Adam Mosseri, have been enjoying the limelight. Mark Zuckerberg was "by far the most convicted" about launching Threads as a separate app, Mosseri said on the podcast. "But, the thing is, we're not a messaging app," Mosseri noted. Mosseri has a bias for simplicity and said he recognizes that the Instagram app is overrun with too many features.

“Past Lives,” by Korean Canadian writer and director Celine Song, is broadly autobiographical. Before “Past Lives,” Song wrote the stage play “Endlings,” which debuted in 2019 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with its subsequent New York run cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic. Celine Song directs Greta Lee on location during the production of "Past Lives." “Past Lives” eschews such visual literalism, using its romantic totems Hae Sung and Arthur instead. The finale of Netflix’s latest dating show hit, “The Ultimatum: Queer Love,” arrived on Wednesday after weeks of partner swapping that amounted to a milestone in romantic reality television: The first of the genre’s marriage contests that focused exclusively on queer couples. Like its predecessor, “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On,” from last year, “The Ultimatum: Queer Love,” which premiered in May, follows couples who don’t agree about their future together (one wants to get engaged; the other is not ready). So they agree to split up and live with new partners for a few weeks in front of the cameras. After meeting, dating and committing to a “trial wife,” the original couples reunite to live together as married, also for a few weeks. Then, after eight episodes worth of soul-searching, they must decide whether to get engaged, end the relationship or leave with their “trial wife” — the “ultimatum” of the title.

He is the author of “Lincoln and the Fight for Peace.” The views expressed in this essay are his own. These celebrated writers were the subject of long-form profiles and occasional tabloid scandals, treated as cerebral rock stars and voices of their generation. They were a post-punk crew that migrated from the UK to the US, including Hitchens, Tina Brown and Salman Rushdie. In his final book, “Inside Story,” part memoir and part novel, Amis returned to his friendship with Hitchens in the 1970s, prior to their becoming famous. It chronicles a doomed affair, flashing forward at times to the decline of their friend Saul Bellows from dementia, as well as Hitchens’ death.

When your smartphone tosses up a photo memory, it’s a bit of a crapshoot. Sometimes you get to recall that fun trip down the shore or enjoy a compilation of your children’s birthday parties over the years. Other times, it’s heartache. Alana Trachenko opened the Google Photos app on her iPhone on Feb. 14 and noticed it had crafted a new video slideshow titled “Together.” It was a collection of photos taken on other Valentine’s Days over the past several years, “a beautiful collage of all my exes,” she said.
When we play songs on Spotify to get us through the day, they can be intimate—and sometimes also publicly visible. Many people have sharing settings enabled on the music-streaming service, making it easy for friends or strangers to find out what they’re listening to, and by extension, what they’re doing or how they’re feeling. A guilty pleasure (“MMMBop,” anyone? ), your repeat listen (yes, Taylor Swift’s “Midnights”) or a playlist name may reveal personal information to those who are snooping.

CNN —Apple has been sued by two women who allege their previous romantic partners used the company’s AirTag devices to track their whereabouts, potentially putting their safety at risk. But soon after its launch, some experts warned that the devices could be used to track individuals without their consent. This isn’t the first time AirTags have allegedly been used for unwanted tracking. In June, a woman from Indiana allegedly used one to track and ultimately murder her boyfriend over an alleged affair, according to reports. Earlier this year, Apple added more safeguards to the AirTag to cut down on unwanted tracking.
CNN —Some people like singing their good news from the rooftops, but in Keke Palmer’s case, it was done on live television in front of millions of viewers. The actress and comedian hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and during her opening monologue, revealed she is pregnant with her first child. “I am!” she continued, whipping open her coat to reveal her bare baby bump underneath. “Let the check clear, and then we can get to the damn baby shower,” she joked. Palmer hosted the long-running NBC comedy sketch show alongside musical guest Sza.
Laura Wasser is a divorce lawyer whose clients have included Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. She'd majored in rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley, and realized quickly that what she'd loved most about those studies was vital in divorce cases, as was her age and gender. A group of Russian women has attempted to send idle fathers to fight Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin's failing war in Ukraine gave rise to a "partial military mobilization" in which 300,000 new conscripts were called upon to fight. The women claim Putin's military order may produce better results than the courts, which have enabled these fathers to abandon their children with little to no financial support. But for me, my ex-husband died as a person a long time ago. If he happens to get killed, it will even be good: the child will receive compensation," Kruglova added.
Why did everyone hate Anne Hathaway all of those years ago? At Elle’s 2022 Women in Hollywood event this week, Hathway commented on the bygone “Hathahate” with painful intimacy, saying the outward hatred only increased her inner hatred of herself.
