Everything with this election has been amplified, said Christy Pruitt-Haynes, a distinguished faculty member at the NeuroLeadership Institute. Giving employees some roomPruitt-Haynes expects many employers will be lenient if employees need to take some time to digest the outcome. Keeping exchanges civilLove or hate the election result, having a strong response to it limits “our ability to think logically and strategically. Which can make for some very ill-advised remarks at the office or on group chats if the election comes up. That’s why managers and other leaders at work need to make a concerted effort to remind people, when the time is right, about why they are there.

New York CNN —Donald Trump’s return to power is a hinge point for the American media – in ways big, small, and to be determined. A severe trust deficit exists between the Trump base and big institutional media outlets. “Maybe ‘misinformation’ is a lazy word that was never applied to press coverage of Biden’s health or the border. Thus, Trump’s reelection portends a new period of hostility with major media outlets that strive for impartiality as well as partisan outlets that oppose him. Further, will media outlets engage in self-censoring to appease Trump, and if so, how will readers and viewers who oppose Trump react?

CNN —Researchers have uncovered links between the precursor to the world’s oldest writing system and the mysterious, intricate designs left behind by engraved cylindrical seals that were rolled across clay tablets about 6,000 years ago. Scholars consider cuneiform the first writing system, and humans used its wedge-shaped characters to inscribe ancient languages such as Sumerian on clay tablets beginning around 3400 BC. The writing system is thought to have originated from Mesopotamia, the region where the world’s earliest known civilization developed that’s now modern-day Iraq. “This gap in the origin story — where do the nonnumerical proto-cuneiform signs come from — was left unresolved,” Johnson said. Correlating seal motifs (left) with proto-cuneiform pictographs could help researchers decipher hundreds of the symbols whose meaning is still unknown.

David, who has maintained his innocence, was acquitted at trial earlier this year of the most serious charges — first- and second-degree murder. David told investigators he didn’t know about Karen’s second phone, but authorities found the device’s number programmed into David’s work phone, the prosecutor said. At the time of Karen’s death, David had reinjured his knee and was on crutches, Taylor said. Outrage has followed the release of a video from a Halloween parade in Pennsylvania that seemed to depict Vice President Kamala Harris tied to a golf cart carrying a man wearing a mask of former President Donald Trump. The float moved along a main street in Mount Pleasant, a town of about 4,000 people located 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. A video appeared to show a woman dressed as Harris with her hands tied at the Halloween parade Wednesday. The fire department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News or share who did the float belong to. NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft is depicted in this artist's concept traveling through interstellar space, or the space between stars, which it entered in 2012. Voyager 1 has been using one of its two radio transmitters, called an X-band based on the frequency it utilizes, for decades. The Perseverance rover, currently ascending the western wall of Jezero Crater, captured a video of the partial eclipse, which resembled a googly eye, on September 30. Previous images includes a video taken by the Curiosity rover in 2019 and photo that the Opportunity rover snapped in 2004. Astronomer Asaph Hall discovered Mars’ two moons, Phobos and Deimos, in 1877.
