CNN —A Civil Air Patrol plane crashed during a training exercise in northern Colorado on Saturday, killing two people and injuring another person, authorities said. The Cessna 182 aircraft crashed in Larimer County, Colorado, while participating in a search and rescue training exercise, according to a Civil Air Patrol news release. Civil Air Patrol said it will cooperate with the NTSB’s investigation to learn more about what contributed to the incident. Major General Laura Clellan, who oversees the Colorado Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, said she was devastated by the loss Saturday. The Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the US Air Force and nonprofit organization.

Despite its name, the DOGE will not actually be a government department, as departments are permanent and can only be created by Congress. "The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will ultimately be staffed and dedicated to this mission," Brian Hughes, a spokesperson for Trump's transition team, told BI in a statement. "It just doesn't work, unless you decide to start cutting Social Security benefits or Medicare, at which point all hell breaks loose," she told BI. CNN —A federal judge granted Idaho serial killer Thomas Creech a stay of execution just one week before he was scheduled to be put to death, months after he survived a botched execution. They also argued Creech was left traumatized after an execution team made eight attempts to start the IV line. On Wednesday, Judge G. Murray Snow granted Creech a reprieve, as the Idaho Supreme Court decision denying his claims came about a week before his scheduled execution.
