"It is absolutely ridiculous that my constituents, who already pay for NBC, have to pay even more to watch this game," Ryan wrote in a letter to top NFL and NBC officials. I'm demanding the NFL and NBC stop the BS and offer fans the service they already pay for, or we're coming for your antitrust exemption." "Fans already face exorbitant prices to watch every game during the regular season; they don't deserve to be squeezed even further by greedy corporations," Ryan added. The league added that all the remaining playoff games would be available over the air nationwide, as well as on other platforms. NBC Sports reportedly pays the league more than $2 billion a year for its slice of NFL games.

The rise of the Patrick Mahomes-era Chiefs was defined by a play called “Wasp.”Trailing late in the Super Bowl against the 49ers four years ago, Mahomes faced third-and-long and drifted farther and farther behind the line of scrimmage after taking the snap. He was waiting for wide receiver Tyreek Hill to break free, and, once he did, Mahomes heaved a pass that traveled 57 yards in the air and landed in Hill’s waiting hands.

He had eight catches for 130 yards and two TDs last week to set an NFL record with his sixth straight game with at least 125 yards receiving. Brown has 831 yards in his last six games and is currently on pace for 1,995 — slightly ahead of Johnson's record. Mahomes had won 13 straight games in the division, one shy of the longest streak since the merger held by Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. Mahomes also saw an end to his streak of 35 straight games in the regular season or playoffs with at least one TD pass. The Panthers had lost 56 straight games when they trailed at any point in the fourth quarter for the longest streak since at least 1991.

CNN —The Miami Dolphins put on an offensive masterclass Sunday, defeating the Denver Broncos 70-20 in their home opener and scoring the second most points by a team in a regular season game in NFL history. The NFL record for one game is 73 points, set by the Chicago Bears in the 1940 NFL Championship. The regular season record is 72 points by Washington in 1966. Late in the fourth quarter the Dolphins had a chance to break the NFL regular season record and tie the Bears’ mark but opted to kneel instead of kicking a field goal from the Broncos’ 28-yard line. The only other team to score 70 points in an NFL game was the Los Angeles Rams in 1950 against the Baltimore Colts.

Thursday’s MatchupDetroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs, 8:20 p.m., NBCLine: Chiefs -4.5 | Total: 52.5Kansas City seems to love to play a game within a game: How many players can be taken away before Patrick Mahomes can’t thrive? The speedy receiver Tyreek Hill, as demonstrated last year, was expendable. So were other receivers like Sammy Watkins, DeMarcus Robinson and JuJu Smith-Schuster. The team goes through running backs quickly enough that Mahomes doesn’t need to introduce himself. It was Chicago’s fifth consecutive win against Green Bay in a rivalry that had become decidedly one-sided.

Record-setting tight end Travis Kelce, for example, could make significantly more money by leaving the Kansas City Chiefs, he told Vanity Fair on Wednesday. "The free market looks like fun until you go somewhere and you don't win," Kelce said. Kelce's approach arguably helps his team win: Kansas City emerged victorious in February's Super Bowl, and made it to the big game in 2021 and 2020. As of Wednesday, the team has least available salary cap room in NFL, according to the National Football League Players Association. "You see how much more money you could be making and, yeah, it hits you in the gut a little bit.

PHOENIX, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Patrick Mahomes will look to pull one more rabbit out of his hat on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 57. Mahomes overcame a high-ankle sprain in the divisional round to get the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl in four years, producing a heroic late-game sprint to help clinch the AFC Championship. Mahomes has helped his favorite target Travis Kelce become one of the greatest tight ends ever to play the game. Kelce is keen to banish memories of their last Super Bowl appearance two years ago, when Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccanneers humiliated them 31-9. "The last taste I had in my mouth of the Super Bowl, it wasn't too good," said Kelce, who will make history at State Farm Stadium with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, as the first siblings to play each other in a Super Bowl.

All week, the Dolphins tried to downplay the potential impact of the frigid conditions. McDaniel told reporters he did not believe the elements affected the Dolphins’ performance in the loss, their third straight. “I know a lot of people would like to make it about the weather, but our team never did,” McDaniel said. The Bills allowed only one touchdown to the Dolphins in the first half — an 11-yard run by Salvon Ahmed — despite Miami entering the red zone three times. Allen threw three touchdowns before halftime as the Dolphins defense struggled to contain him and his receivers while he scrambled.
