Since Trump's win, the market has already seen some major gains. Those sectors in particular had several winners in the rally following Trump's 2016 win , and analysts believe gains may likewise be in store this time around – especially for energy. Defense stocks could also see some gains, according to Barclays analyst David Strauss. That would be above the 14.2% rally the stock saw after Trump's first win from Nov. 7, 2016, until year's end. Among the 15 analysts covering it, 11 have a hold rating, while only two have a strong buy or buy rating.

Several software companies could be due for a pullback after the stock market's roaring rally this week, fueled by president-elect Donald Trump's election victory as well as robust quarterly earnings reports. Shares of video game makers Take-Two Interactive Software and Electronic Arts are two of the stocks that are technically overbought right now, according to the analysis. The most overbought stock this week was human capital management software company Dayforce, with an RSI of 92.4. But higher prices and expectations of normalizing pricing, which helped Coke guide its organic revenue growth this year to the high end of a prior forecast, could lead the stocks higher. Other oversold stocks include power generation company AES , as well as radio frequency equipment maker Qorvo and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals — the latter two of which were also oversold the previous week.

Elevator test towers can go higher still. Elevator test towers are “a bit like a test track for a Formula One team,” said Tomio Pihkala, chief technology officer at Finnish elevator manufacturer Kone, in a phone interview. The resulting oscillation simulates wind and earthquakes, which are among the biggest challenges in elevator development, according to TK Elevator. Saudi state oil giant Aramco reported a 15.4% drop in net profit in the third-quarter on the back of "lower crude oil prices and weakening refining margins," but maintained a 31.05 billion dividend. The company reported net income of $27.56 billion in the July-September period, topping a company-provided estimate of $26.9 billion. The print is also a 5% drop from the previous quarter, which came in at $29.1 billion, as lower global oil prices, weaker demand and prolonged OPEC+ production cuts led by Saudi Arabia continue to impact crude prices. Earnings before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) came in at $51.45 billion in the third quarter, down 17% year-on-year. The earnings align with a broader trend across oil majors, whose third-quarter profits have also suffered from declines in crude prices and refining margins.

In October, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that high-risk adults get a second updated Covid vaccine to bolster their protection against the virus. No other vaccines are given at such a high frequency, but experts say there’s no reason to believe that the vaccines — and in particular, the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna — aren’t effective. Pfizer’s and Moderna’s vaccines were the first to use mRNA technology to induce immunity to a virus, an approach that proved critical in the early days of the pandemic because mRNA vaccines can be developed much faster than traditional vaccines. Despite the CDC recommending an additional shot, there’s no evidence that the mRNA vaccines aren’t working as expected, said Akiko Iwasaki, a professor of immunology at the Yale School of Medicine. In a perfect world, the Covid vaccines would be able to be updated much faster to match the strains in circulation.

America PAC has been tasked with much of the pro-Trump canvassing operation as his campaign focuses its efforts on a more limited effort targeting so-called low-propensity voters. “I know it’s been flagged for America PAC that this has been transpiring,” an operative formerly on the effort said. As some of that data spilled into public view last month, an operative close to the effort said: “All hell has broken loose” inside the PAC. Through late October, America PAC had spent upward of $54 million on Blitz’s services, according to Federal Election Commission filings — more than the PAC has on the three other vendors combined. America PAC ended its relationships this summer with two other prominent GOP-aligned canvassing firms that were knocking on doors as part of its effort.
