Martin's personal success with the challenge inspired her to bring the tradition to the Google offices. However, asking tech bros to stay away from their tech — even for just a night — required a strategic introduction. "Pick one night a week is so much less powerful than no-tech Tuesday," she said. At the end of the challenge, Martin said that 97.2% of participants reported feeling that no-tech Tuesday in some way positively impacted their work performance and/or stress level, and 92% said they planned to continue the challenge. Advertisement"Some participants have been doing the challenge for five years and have kept up with every single Tuesday night since I first held it," Martin said.

Cloudy insulin. Pills that may no longer work. Doctors and pharmacists say the scorching temperatures enveloping the country could be endangering people’s health in an unexpected way: by overheating their medications. Millions of Americans now receive their prescription medications through mail-order shipments, either for convenience or because their health plans require it. Aerosolized medications, too, are uniquely vulnerable because of the risk of pressure changes in the canister.

My next home was in Seoul, for two years, followed by a decade in Hong Kong — the one place I truly felt at home. AdvertisementI later moved on to become the managing editor of DRiNK Magazine Asia, while I was simultaneously bartending at The Old Man Hong Kong. The book caught my now-business partner's attention and recently led me to Japan to help open a bar, Tokyo Confidential, in the capital. The language barrier is different when you're living here and not just fumbling along as a tourist. CNN —Within minutes of President Joe Biden endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him on the Democratic Party’s ticket on Sunday, the internet crackled with lies, altered photos and other misleading claims about Harris. Some supporters of former President Donald Trump – the Republican nominee in the November election – even suggested Biden was the victim of a coup. Meanwhile, a slew of slickly edited pro-Harris videos quickly proliferated on social media as her backers tried to capitalize on the moment. Biden’s likeness was also exploited in the aftermath of his announcement, which came via a post on social media and not televised address.
