The incidents alleged in the complaints span from 1995 to 2021 and include allegations of sexual assault and rape. The lawsuits, filed Monday, name Combs and his various businesses as defendants and the accusers are seeking unspecified damages. CNN —A man was killed and nine other people were injured in a shooting Saturday near Tennessee State University as the Nashville school celebrated homecoming – and investigators believe at least one of the injured participated in the gunfire, officials said. The shooting happened around 5 p.m. along a street where TSU’s homecoming parade had taken place that morning, Nashville police and fire officials said at a news conference Saturday evening. At least three of the injured were children who had non-critical injuries, Nashville police said on X. At least one of the injured people “is suspected to have been involved in the gunfire,” Nashville police said on X. The school’s football team played its homecoming game Saturday evening at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, roughly 3 miles east of where the shooting happened.

The prospect of installing a new roof atop Tropicana Field comes at a difficult time for local governments, which are already committed to building a new Rays stadium in time for the 2028 season. So whatever investment is put into Tropicana Field now would be used by the Rays for only three more seasons. CNN —The federal criminal sex trafficking case against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been assigned a new judge. Before joining the law firm, he worked as a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Combs’ case was first randomly assigned to Judge Andrew Carter, who was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2011. Combs is currently incarcerated and is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York while awaiting his criminal trial. He was arrested earlier this month and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors filed murder, kidnapping, robbery, and carjacking charges Monday against the man suspected of hijacking an LA Metro bus last week, murdering a passenger, and leading police on an hour-long chase through downtown Los Angeles. He was riding the Metro bus to commute home from his job at Dodger Stadium when it was commandeered. Several other passengers on the bus were described in court papers filed Monday as victims of various crimes that occurred during the hijacking. LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn, who also chairs the Metro transit system board of directors, said crime that occurs on the Metro system is often a reflection of what goes on in the communities it serves. “But when it happens on a Metro bus or a train, it obviously becomes national news,” Hahn said.

CNN —Sean “Diddy” Combs may soon be facing new allegations from over 100 men and women who’ve obtained legal representation and plan to file civil suits against the embattled media mogul in the coming weeks, according to Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee. “As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. Since last November, Combs has been hit with 12 civil suits, 11 of which directly accuse him of sexual assault. A source previously told CNN that the majority of accusers who filed civil lawsuits had met with federal investigators during their months-long investigation. In March, Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami were searched by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
