It is the second serious injury Dobbins has suffered in his short NFL career after he tore his ACL, ruling him out of the 2021 season entirely. Roundup: Broncos pick up 5th year on WR Jerry Jeudy

May 1 - The Denver Broncos picked up the fifth-year option on wide receiver Jerry Jeudy on Monday. Jeudy has 157 catches for 2,295 yards and nine touchdowns in 41 games (33 starts) since the Broncos selected him No. --The Cleveland Browns picked up the fifth-year option on starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr.Wills, 23, will make $14.175 million in the 2024 season. --The Ravens declined the fifth-year option on linebacker Patrick Queen, drafted No. He has just three sacks in 40 games (11 starts) since being selected No.
Those cutaways during the NFL Draft to hopefuls waiting for their names to be picked as other players are chosen ahead of them. Will Levis, the quarterback from Kentucky, was widely projected to be drafted in the first round, if not the top 10 selections. Levis waits in the Green Room with family at the 2023 NFL Draft. Levis waited, waited, waited and waited. But when the final pick was turned in and it Levis’ name wasn’t on that ticket, the waiting game was over.
PinnedQuarterbacks, top-10 trades and a bull market for running backs headlined the first round of this year’s N.F.L. The Carolina Panthers chose Alabama quarterback Bryce Young at No. After the Texans picked Stroud, they struck again, leaping from pick No. One unexpected development was the move toward running backs, a position that has been devalued in the N.F.L. But teams picked other quarterbacks or filled other needs, this year’s reminder that pre-draft speculation is just that.
CNN —Heading into the NFL Draft, there’s always one prospect coming out of college who everyone becomes infatuated with, despite not being the finished article. This year’s golden boy is Anthony Richardson and, in his unique case, he’s impressed at every stage of the process. Richardson ran the fastest 40-yard dash time of all quarterbacks, as well as jumping the highest and furthest at the Combine. With potentially nine picks in the opening 12 being held by quarterback-needy teams, Richardson could be finding a new home anywhere across the league. David Rosenblum/Icon Sportswire/Getty ImagesIt means that Richardson has just 13 career college starts to his name entering the draft.

Asked by a reporter this week what took so long, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was blunt: "There are probably a variety of reasons - probably none of them good." "The reality is, there's such great talent at that position, Black and white," Goodell said at his annual state-of-the-league media briefing. He told the New York Times that year that Black quarterbacks had not "been given the opportunity and the patience" their white counterparts had. "I never felt it was thing where people said it was harder to win with Black quarterbacks, it was more about durability. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Carolina Panthers, 21-3, on Oct. 23. The most pivotal clash during the penultimate week of this NFL season isn’t the high-profile showdown between Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, two Super Bowl favorites. It’s actually between two teams with a losing record. One of them is the Carolina Panthers, who are 6-9, fired their head coach, traded away their star running back and cut their starting quarterback. They should be spending the weekend scouting talent at the College Football Playoff.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos fired first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett on Monday with two games left in the season. Firing Hackett with two games left in a lost season allows Penner to begin his search for a replacement immediately. The Broncos scheduled a news conference for Tuesday, when they’re expected to name their interim head coach for games at Kansas City next weekend and at home against the Chargers in Week 18. Hackett is the third NFL head coach fired during the 2022 season. The Carolina Panthers replaced Matt Rhule with interim head coach Steve Wilks and the Indianapolis Colts fired Frank Reich and replaced him with coaching novice Jeff Saturday.
