A New Mexico teenager was charged with what appeared to be an accidental shooting of his younger sister on Tuesday morning, according to police. A 17-year-old boy and his siblings were at home in Clayton, New Mexico, getting ready for school when the boy "pointed what he thought was an unloaded handgun" at his 8-year-old sister, New Mexico State Police said. The girl was taken to a local hospital and later flown to a hospital in Texas. The teenager is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, negligent use of a deadly weapon, and tampering with evidence. It's unclear if he has retained an attorney or if he is being charged as adult.

The new charges he faces in relation to the attack in the town of Southport, England, are in addition to three charges of murder, 10 charges of attempted murder and one charge of possession of a knife. “Searches of Axel Rudakubana’s home address resulted in an unknown substance being found – testing confirmed the substance was ricin,” Kennedy told reporters at a news conference. The trial was scheduled as France continues to reckon with sexual violence in the wake of the #MeToo movement that initially struggled to find traction, especially in the cinema industry. One John Doe states in his lawsuit that he auditioned for Combs in 2005 at a hotel in New York at age 10. According to the lawsuit, Combs then forced Doe to perform oral sex after he resisted. Doe lost consciousness and later woke up in tears with his pants undone and pain in his anus and buttocks, the lawsuit states. The following day, the complaint states, Combs and his bodyguard sexually assaulted Doe. The initial lawsuit, filed by his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, was settled the next day.
