ATLANTA — Walt Ehmer, the president and CEO of Waffle House and a member of the board of trustees for the Atlanta Police Foundation, has died at age 58, the foundation announced Sunday. The board of directors for Waffle House issued a statement Sunday afternoon saying Ehmer died after a long illness. Ehmer was chair of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2013 and served numerous organizations, including the Georgia Tech Foundation Board and the Georgia Tech Advisory Board. The Waffle House chain of around-the-clock diners opened in 1955 and now boasts more than 1,900 locations in 25 states.

While his failed 1031 experience may be "rare," he noted, "there are so many things that could delay a closing." Lewis says he'd consider a 1031 exchange in the future if the 180-day rule were extended to a year.

English singer Lily Allen said she adopted a puppy during the Covid-19 pandemic, but returned it after it ate her family's passports. Jones cautioned that getting a dog with her husband, "Stranger Things" star David Harbour, is "a hell of a commitment." Allen said the pup ate her passport as well as those of her two daughters, Ethel, 12, and Marnie, 11, who she shares with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. Allen said "passports weren’t the only thing she ate." Allen and Harbour first sparked romance rumors in 2019 and they married in a Las Vegas wedding in September 2020, according to People Magazine.

The 2024 Games in Paris will mark his fifth Paralympics as he previously competed in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, 2012 London Paralympic Games, 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games and 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. Ahead of the Paris Paralympic Games, Team USA shared a video on Instagram of Serio, 36, taking a trip down memory lane as he revisited his headshots for past Games. The Team USA Instagram account shared a photo of Nieves posing alongside some of her USA women’s sitting volleyball teammates on Thursday.
