A grand jury in New Mexico indicted Alec Baldwin on Friday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter, reviving the criminal case against him in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of the film “Rust” more than two years ago when a gun he was rehearsing with went off. The indictment, which came exactly one year after the first involuntary manslaughter case against him was announced, was the latest reversal of fortune for Mr. Baldwin. The local district attorney’s initial case fell apart and the initial charge against Mr. Baldwin was dismissed in April. But a new prosecution team, Kari T. Morrissey and Jason J. Lewis, decided to present the case to a grand jury, which indicted Mr. Baldwin on Friday. In New Mexico, an involuntary manslaughter conviction on a charge like the one Mr. Baldwin faces can carry up to 18 months in prison.

A New Mexico grand jury on Friday indicted actor Alec Baldwin on involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal 2021 shooting on the set of "Rust." Baldwin is facing two separate types of involuntary manslaughter charges, court records show. He is facing one count of involuntary manslaughter, negligent use of a firearm, and involuntary manslaughter, without due caution or circumspection. Charges were dropped against the actor in April after "new facts" emerged that demanded further investigation, prosecutors said previously.

The footage was recorded days before Baldwin's prop gun fired a live round of ammunition on set, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. It isn't clear how much of the footage prosecutors reviewed or whether they reviewed any of the five videos. It is so far the most substantive film footage of Baldwin acting scenes and firing prop guns on the set of "Rust." The third video shows Baldwin in character repeatedly firing a prop gun before he runs out of dummy rounds. In the fourth and fifth videos, Baldwin stops filming to check on the safety of the crew.

Musk filed the objections in San Francisco federal court, where the SEC sued him on Oct. 5 to make him testify for the probe, which it launched in April 2022. Musk has given the SEC documents relating to the probe and provided testimony in July last year via video conference, the SEC said in a court filing. The SEC has spent 18 months "devoting its formidable resources to investigating Mr. Musk over an allegedly untimely filing," the court filings said. SANTA FE, N.M. Political Cartoons View All 1211 ImagesAttorneys for Baldwin said the latest move by prosecutors is misguided. Special prosecutors initially dismissed an involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin in April, saying they were informed the gun might have been modified before the shooting and malfunctioned. The weapons supervisor on the movie set, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and evidence tampering in the case. In the revived case against Baldwin, a grand jury would “determine whether probable cause exists to bind Baldwin over on criminal charges,” special prosecutors said.

In Kenya, they will be offered 50,000 Kenyan shillings (about $344) – around a third of the price of a new electric bike – to swap their existing bike for an electric one.
