And it still remains the case that bitcoin futures are regulated, and spot bitcoin is not," Simeon Hyman, head of the investment strategy group at ProShares, told CNBC. One theory for why the futures ETF has continued to have success is that there are listed options for bitcoin futures products, but not for the spot products, said Aniket Ullal, head of ETF data and analytics at CFRA. The ProShares futures ETF may also be getting helped by increased action in the futures market itself. To be sure, not all bitcoin futures products are going strong. VanEck announced Jan. 17 that it was liquidating its bitcoin futures ETF.

By Lucy CraymerWELLINGTON (Reuters) - The New Zealand government on Friday withdrew a bill that would have allowed sixteen year olds to vote in local government elections if it had passed. New Zealand's highest court ruled in late 2022 that the country's current voting age of 18 was discriminatory, forcing parliament to discuss whether it should be lowered. The previous Labour government last year ruled out the possibility of lowering the voting age to 16 for national elections, but had sought to legislate a lower voting age for local government elections. "Worrying about how to implement a new voting age regime would be a costly distraction for councils who have enough issues to deal with right now," he said. "Democracy is when voters choose their politicians, not when politicians choose their voters," they said in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Source: Bloomberg/SEC.govHow will a spot bitcoin trade relative to bitcoin and bitcoin futures? One of the main questions is how well a spot bitcoin ETF will track bitcoin and bitcoin futures. Simeon Hyman, ProShares' global investment strategist who manages the largest bitcoin futures ETF, the ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) that launched in October 2021, noted that bitcoin futures ETFs have tracked bitcoin "fairly well." Some are concerned that the creation and redemption process that was agreed upon to create spot bitcoin ETFs could result in a bitcoin ETF trading at a premium to its NAV.

Analysts on Wall Street think Five Below is the retail stock investors should be buying as the holiday shopping season picks up steam. The report underpins a broader bullish trend for the retailer, analysts say, which is a more cost-sensitive consumer who is partial toward bargain hunting. Analyst Jason Haas noted the popularity of Five Below could improve further as shoppers gear up for the Christmas holiday. FIVE becomes most needs-based during the holiday season and the rollout of Five Beyond (products $6-25) better positions it in the gift-giving category." "All in, we think FIVE is well positioned to outperform in the current environment and will gain share behind several catalysts (e.g.

The number of ETFs tied to cryptocurrencies is expanding dramatically in the first week of October, with a wave of funds that buy ether futures launching on Monday. "I think the long-term buyers of these products are financial professionals — financial advisors, family offices," and registered investment advisors, said Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan. The fund has slightly lagged the price of spot bitcoin since inception in 2021, when bitcoin was near an all-time high. "The thing that people wanted to find out was would a bitcoin futures ETF do its job? And in fact it has done that quite well," said Simeon Hyman, head of the investment strategy group at ProShares.

People visit the Nike store at 5th Avenue during the holiday season in New York City, U.S., December 9, 2022. The company had turned to steep discounting to clear the excess inventory, which had weighed on its margins in the past few quarters. Nike on Thursday estimated a 100 basis point boost to current-quarter gross margin while maintaining its annual forecasts. The jump also lifted shares of Adidas, Puma and JD Sports (JD.L) between 5%-7%. Still, demand in North America remained under pressure, leading Nike to post a slight miss on first-quarter revenue.

California Rolls for a Crowd

For years, my party go-to has been Sheldon Simeon’s pan sushi dynamite, a recipe from his excellent cookbook, “Cook Real Hawai’i.” Pan sushi — or sushi bake — never fails to delight. It’s a generous sheet of sushi rice topped with fish that has been baked just long enough to marry with its sauce, placed on the table with palm-size squares of nori for D.I.Y. Naz’s recipe has the same sushi-casserole heart, but with California roll vibes. Imitation crab is mixed with cream cheese, mayo and Sriracha, baked on vinegary sushi rice, showered with furikake and topped with sliced cucumber and avocado. Naz notes that you can use canned tuna or salmon (or, indeed, real crab) instead; I can confidently confirm that sushi bake is a great use of canned salmon.
