The Miami Dolphins will place quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least four weeks, the team announced Tuesday. Tagovailoa suffered a concussion during the Dolphins’ 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. This is at least the third concussion Tagovailoa has sustained during his time in the NFL. The concussion Tagovailoa suffered in Week 16 was not diagnosed until the day after the game. CNN —Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been “smiling with his teammates” and taking things “day by day” as he recovers from his latest concussion, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel comforts Tagovailoa after the quarterback's latest concussion. CNN contacted Tagovailoa’s representatives about the report but did not hear back, while the Dolphins declined to comment. “I think it’s of utmost priority of mind for Tua to speak on Tua’s career,” said McDaniel. After guiding the Dolphins to the playoffs last season, Tagovailoa agreed to a four-year contract extension in the offseason, reportedly worth $212.4 million.

CNN —The Miami Dolphins placed star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on the reserve/injured list (IR) Tuesday following his latest concussion. Per NFL rules, Tagovailoa’s earliest return to competition would be Miami’s home game against the Arizona Cardinals on October 27. Tagovailoa was forced off the field during the Dolphins’ 31-10 loss against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday after diving for a first down and taking a hit from Bills safety Damar Hamlin. Third-year quarterback Skylar Thompson, who replaced Tagovailoa in the loss against the Bills, is expected to start versus the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The Dolphins announced Tuesday that the team had signed quarterback Tyler Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad.

Just as the offseason kicked off in mid February, Durde was hired to become the Seattle Seahawks’ new defensive coordinator, becoming the first British coordinator in NFL history. Durde’s first exposure to the NFL came in 2005 when – as part of the NFL International Development Practice Squad program, an early predecessor to the IPP – he spent some time on the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers. He spent three seasons as part of the Falcons’ defensive coaching staff, working across a number of roles under head coach Dan Quinn. His permanent hiring in 2018 meant Durde became the first British full-time coach in NFL history. Under Durde’s stewardship, Dallas’ defensive line developed into one of the most feared in the league, in particular star linebacker Micah Parsons.

New York CNN —Amazon has landed the rights to exclusively stream one National Football League playoff game next season on its Prime Video platform, a source familiar with the matter told CNN. The deal comes less than a month after NBCUniversal’s Peacock became the first-ever platform to exclusively livestream an NFL playoff game. The source said Peacock did not lose the rights to exclusively stream a playoff game. Earlier this month, Amazon reported a 24% year-over-year increase in total viewership of “Thursday Night Football” this season, citing Nielsen. The NFL declined to comment and Amazon has not responded to CNN’s request for comment.
