It is building 43 new hotel units and 18 residential homes over 40 acres — all with a 3D printer. It is the world’s first 3D-printed hotel, says El Cosmico owner Liz Lambert and the partners behind the project — Austin, Texas-based 3D printing company ICON and architects Bjarke Ingels Group. The “ink” of this 3D printer is a special cement-based material called Lavacrete, a proprietary mixture designed for strength, affordable scale, and printability. Hamas has chosen Yahya Sinwar, one of the architects of the deadly Oct. 7 attacks on Israel, to lead the militant group’s political wing, it announced on Tuesday, consolidating his power over Hamas as it continues to fight Israel in the Gaza Strip. Mr. Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza since 2017, has long been considered a planner of Hamas’s military strategy there. Now, he will also replace Ismail Haniyeh, the group’s previous political leader and a key liaison in the indirect cease-fire talks with Israel. Mr. Haniyeh, who had been living in Qatar, was killed in an explosion in Iran last week that has been widely attributed to Israel. A hard-line figure born in Gaza, Mr. Sinwar, 61, is a prime target for Israeli forces and is widely believed to be hiding out in tunnels underneath the enclave to avoid Israeli attack.

Here’s what we know about Mr. Sinwar and his past. Mr. Sinwar had been recruited by Hamas’s founder, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, who made him chief of an internal security unit known as Al Majd. Back then, breaking’s fundamental movements provided escapism and expression, competitive and spontaneous physical performance breathed to life by the dawning genre of hip-hop. But breaking — not “break dancing,” a term coined by media and disdained within the breaking community — no longer belongs solely to New York City. In Paris, Olympic breakers representing countries like Japan, Lithuania and Morocco will compete one-on-one in battles waged for a global television audience. Technology like VHS tapes, DVDs and video platforms like YouTube allowed breakers around the world to learn moves and iterate new ones. “That’s why I love it so much, because it’s never the same,” said Menno van Gorp, who will represent the Netherlands.

Neom's flagship city, known as The Line, has grand plans to be a futuristic "eco-city." Experts told BI that these plans offered exciting solutions for issues like urban sprawl, excessive carbon emissions, and inefficient energy use. "Transportation accounts for less than a quarter of global carbon emissions, while the construction and operation of buildings represent nearly 40% of emissions," Baum said. She added that it can be particularly difficult to maintain sustainable construction in hot and dry regions of the world.
