AdvertisementUS stocks have been on a tear since Trump's win. "Let me tell you something: If Trump enacted 50% of what he's saying, you'll have a stock market crash, the likes that you haven't seen since the 1920s," Scaramucci said. You'll crush the economy; you'll crush our tax revenues; you'll flip upside down the job market," Scaramucci said. "They will not be ready for that, and so the stock market will have gotten wrong the current movement." "My guess is that the stock market aficionados, the stock market experts, are probably right," Scaramucci said.

The small cap Russell 2000 index contains domestic companies that should benefit in a protectionist, on-shoring environment as long as inflation and rates stay contained. The monthly chart of the Russell 2000 shows a pending breakout from all-time highs of 2,459. Put in simpler terms the Russell 2000 small cap index has underperformed the large cap S & P 500 index for the past 13 years. The small cap Industrial ETF just broke from a consolidation around $135 and is still in the earlier stages of the expansion. The forward valuation is 28 times 2025 earnings so not egregious for this high growth small cap industrial name.

Bank of America's global fund manager survey showed the percentage of portfolio managers who are overweight U.S. stocks soared to 29% — its highest level since August 2013 — from 10% before the U.S. presidential election. Small caps, which stand to benefit greatly from less regulation, reduced taxes and faster economic growth, have outperformed large caps since the election. .SPX DJIA,.IXIC,IWM YTD mountain SPX, Nasdaq, Dow and IWM year to date BofA's chief investment startegist Michael Hartnett noted this trend is likely to continue. "Post-election results show net 35% [of fund managers surveyed] expect small caps to outperform large caps, which would have been the most since Feb'21," he said. This would make it next to impossible for the Federal Reserve to justify lowering interest rates, which could hurt equities — especially small caps.

President-elect Donald Trump's return to the White House has sent ripples through global financial markets, with many investors looking to recalibrate their portfolios for a dramatically different policy landscape ahead. Higher Treasury yields mean higher interest rates for corporate borrowers. Trump's tariffs Perhaps the biggest concern for investors globally is Trump's campaign promise of aggressive new tariffs , including the potential for a universal 10% tariff on all imports and a 60% tariff on Chinese goods. However, some Asian nations might benefit if higher tariffs on China prompt manufacturers to relocate. Europe Most analysts agree that U.S. trade tariffs are likely to hurt Europe, with some companies able to navigate the challenges better than others.

While Trump may not want to associate with that plan, it was formulated by his allies – at least 140 people associated with Project 2025 worked in Trump’s administration, according to a review by CNN’s Steve Contorno. Trump’s adviser Stephen Miller said on Fox News to expect deportations to begin the moment Trump is again president on January 20, 2025. Commonly referred to as “Schedule F,” Trump’s plan was to undo long-standing protections for nonpartisan civil servants. US stocks had one of their best days in years and hit new records after Trump's resounding win over Kamala Harris in Tuesday's election. Both of those moves make sense, said David Kelly, the global strategy chief at JPMorgan Asset Management, in an interview on Wednesday. AdvertisementThe strategy chief has been adamant that higher tariffs — one of Trump's key proposals — would cripple the US economy and endanger the global economic expansion. Related storiesMost economists condemn tariffs, which are taxes on imports, because they tend to lead to higher prices and lower economic growth. Sean Gallagher, the global head of Lazard's small-cap equity platform, made a similar point in a recent interview with Business Insider when asked about Trump's tariffs and Kelly's stance.

Our NFL writers addressed these topics and more in making one prediction for every team heading into the season’s second half. The fourth-year back is on pace to finish with 1,256 yards, which would be the fourth-highest total in team history. Every other NFL team has put a player in at least one of those categories during that stretch — and most teams have checked both boxes. Minnesota has one of the most productive defenses in the NFL and an offense loaded at the skill positions. And the Eagles have managed to win games despite bad luck and bad decisions.
