Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expects quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to play again this season, he said Monday. Tagovailoa has not played since suffering a concussion against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 12. Tagovailoa must also clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before he is eligible to play, a process that begins only after he’s activated from IR. The concussion Tagovailoa sustained against the Bills is at least the third of his professional career. Tagovailoa was also suspected of having a third concussion that season, a controversy that led to an overhaul of the NFL’s concussion protocol.

World Liberty Financial is separate and apart from Trump Media & Technology Group , the parent company of social media platform Truth Social. Trump Media, known by ticker symbol DJT, started trading in March, after going public through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). On Tuesday, the former president and current Republican nominee aims to launch WLFI, the token accompanying his new crypto project called World Liberty Financial. Trump owns about 57% of DJT's outstanding shares, but his potential control over World Liberty Financial is more opaque. Folkman added that WLF would publish the "long-awaited" roadmap for the project on Tuesday, in tandem with the token sale.

But after his most recent head injury, McDaniel told reporters on Monday he hopes to see Tagovailoa return to the field this season. There’s still information that he’s seeking this week,” McDaniel said. The Dolphins have struggled in Tagovailoa’s absence, losing twice and winning their most recent game in Week 5 against the New England Patriots. After guiding the Dolphins to the playoffs last season, Tagovailoa agreed to a four-year contract extension in the offseason, reportedly worth $212.4 million.

CNN —Neuroscientist Chris Nowinski has said he wants the NFL to investigate the apparent head injury suffered by Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen during Sunday’s defeat to the Houston Texans. Allen’s head struck the turf in the fourth quarter after being tackled and lay motionless before being rolled over by his teammates. The QB came off the field and was directed to the sideline medical tent, where doctors assess players’ injuries. After emerging from the blue tent, Allen appeared to be offered smelling salts, which make players feel more alert before going onto the field. Allen said in his postgame press conference that he “felt good enough to go back into the game” after the incident.

London CNN —Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has controversially broken royal protocol and claimed in his upcoming memoir that Queen Elizabeth II was suffering from bone cancer before her death. Johnson isn’t the first prime minister to reminisce about his life, time in office and interactions with the late Queen in an autobiography. Buckingham Palace has a policy not to comment on books released about the royal family and as such has not confirmed or denied Johnson’s assertions. Johnson, who served as prime minister between 2019 and 2022, recalls traveling to the royal residence of Balmoral for the customary outgoing audience and resignation. Thinking back on that last time the pair sat together in the Queen’s drawing room, Johnson said that he understood Young’s forewarning.

CNN —A New Mexico judge on Monday denied “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed’s request for new trial and upheld her involuntary manslaughter conviction for the 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Gutierrez Reed, who as armorer was in charge of firearms on the movie set, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in March. Her defense attorney argued she was scapegoated for the safety failures of film set management and other crew members. Baldwin was also charged with involuntary manslaughter and had pleaded not guilty. Assistant film director David Halls took a plea deal in 2023 for his role in the shooting.

CNN —A New Mexico judge on Thursday is set to consider the “Rust” movie armorer’s motion to be released from prison, months after similar charges against actor Alec Baldwin were dismissed due to prosecutorial misconduct. At her trial, prosecutors argued she repeatedly violated safety protocol and was negligent in performing her duties, allowing six live rounds on to the set. Her defense attorney argued she was scapegoated for the safety failures of film set management and other crew members. But just days after his trial began, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer threw out the charges and ruled prosecutors did not properly turn over evidence to the defense. The judge called the withholding of evidence “intentional and deliberate” and dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning it cannot be brought again.
