Coca-Cola bottler bulks up challenged empire

MILAN, Aug 2 (Reuters Breakingviews) - The world’s largest maker of Coca-Cola bottles is growing bigger. Pouncing on Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, which Coca-Cola (KO.N) itself is selling, is a no-brainer. The $267 billion U.S. drink maker run by James Quincey is offloading its bottling manufacturing around the world to concentrate on its ubiquitous products. At just over 1 times 2022 sales, the price tag looks cheap compared to CCEP’s own nearly 2 times multiple. HOUSTON, July 25 (Reuters) - U.S. oil and gas deals rebounded in the second quarter as private equity firms shed shale portfolio investments and publicly traded oil firms grabbed smaller rivals. The surge was due in part to energy focused private equity firms EnCap Investments and NGP Energy Capital selling off a combined six portfolio companies. In total, $14 billion in private equity-owned assets have changed hands this year, Enverus said. Private equity firms have moved away from oil deals, with only 10 new exploration and production firm investments this year compared to 100 per year last decade, Enverus said. Most M&A was in the top U.S. shale field as companies looked to add oil acreage, Enverus' Dittmar said.

May 1 (Reuters) - An unexplained power outage at Manila airport's Terminal 3 on Monday led to about 40 domestic Cebu Pacific (CEB.PS) flights being cancelled, the airport said. "Flight delays are expected due to the outage", the Ninoy Aquino International Airport said in a statement posted on Facebook, without disclosing the cause of the power failure. Standby power systems were supplying electricity to critical facilities enabling airline and immigration computers to function partially and enable processing of both inbound and outbound passengers, it said. In a statement, Cebu Pacific offered its passengers departing to and from Terminal 3 an option to rebook or to request refunds to be put in a travel fund for future use.
