NEW DELHI, India— Living in a pollution-free environment is a fundamental right, India’s Supreme Court said Wednesday as it urged authorities to address deteriorating air quality in the north of the country. Swiss group IQAir rated Delhi the world’s most polluted city in its live rankings. The Supreme Court pulled up the governments of both states for taking “selective action” against stubble burning, saying penal provisions were not being properly implemented. Recognizing this, the court on Wednesday directed the federal government and the governments of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and the western state of Rajasthan to submit compliance reports. In Pakistan’s most populous province of Punjab, authorities have changed school timings and suspended outdoor activities because of pollution.

The family was shocked and disappointed by the coddling of kids when they returned to the US. She was featured in "The Danish Secret to Happy Kids," a new book that champions Nordic parenting. Philadelphia CNN —Dozens of Black motorcyclists drove through north and west Philadelphia over the weekend with a simple message for Black men: Go vote. Younger Black men have received increased attention from the Harris campaign in recent days. Since January, Black Men Vote has been reaching out to its target audience in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, where the group says it has registered more than 100,000 Black men to vote. Black Men Vote has also partnered with barbers, who they’ve trained as voting ambassadors to talk to clients about civic engagement. Ninety-two percent of Black voters in the state backed the president, including 89% of Black men and 94% of Black women, according to CNN exit polls.

— Three people were killed and eight others were injured in central Mississippi early Saturday when at least two people opened fire into a group of several hundred people who were celebrating a school’s homecoming football win at an outdoor trail several hours after the game had ended, authorities said. The gunfire was preceded by a fight between some of the men at the celebration, but deputies hadn’t yet learned what sparked the fight, said Holmes County Sheriff Willie March. Anywhere from 200 to 300 people were on the trail celebrating, and the gunfire sent them fleeing, the sheriff said in a phone interview. “The shooting just started and people started running.”The shootings about five miles outside of Lexington, Mississippi, followed a football game several hours earlier at the Holmes County Consolidated School’s homecoming celebration.
