CNN —The father of decorated Norwegian distance runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen will stand trial next year after being charged with physical and mental abuse of his son, Norwegian public prosecutors told CNN Sport. “I can confirm that Gjert Ingebrigtsen on November 29th was indicted by our office for physical and mental abuse of his son Jakob Ingebrigtsen,” public prosecutor Birgitte Budal Løvlund told CNN. Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi was released from prison Sunday after completing a one-year sentence for speaking out against the Iranian regime, the Iranian judiciary’s Mizan news agency reported early on Monday. Salehi had been sentenced to death in April by a revolutionary court on charges linked to unrest in the country from 2022 to 2023, although Iran’s Supreme Court overturned that sentence in June. His songs eulogized months-long protests sparked by the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian woman arrested for allegedly wearing an “improper” hijab that flouted Iran’s Islamic dress code. Salehi was arrested in October 2022 after making public statements in support of the nationwide protests. Amini’s death in September 2022 unleashed protests that posed the biggest challenge to the Islamic Republic’s clerical leaders in decades.

Britain's Supreme has bought out loss-making tea brand Typhoo Tea from administration in a 10.2 million pound ($12.94 million) deal, the fast-moving consumer products seller said on Monday. The 120-year-old tea brand had fallen into administration in November due to declining sales and mounting debt pressures. Supreme also expects to further its retail footprint with the acquisition, taking advantage of Typhoo Tea's expansive supply relationship with all major UK supermarkets and discounters. Typhoo Tea, the first pre-packaged tea brand in the UK, made about 20 million pounds in revenue and pre-tax losses of about 4.6 million pounds for the year ended Sept. 30.

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Monday said the artificial intelligence-driven PC upgrade cycle doesn't seem to have hit just yet, even as it's been about four years since the last refresh phase. "The big AI-driven PC refresh cycle seems to be on hold, even though they're confident it'll play out," Cramer said of companies that sell the products. "It sounds more like a normal upgrade cycle than anything revolutionary, which I've found to be a tad disheartening." While Best Buy's results largely disappointed, Cramer noted that PC sales were more encouraging than the quarter itself. "Putting it all together, it's clear that the PC upgrade cycle's going more slowly than any of these companies would like, but is it a lost cause?"
