Chris Sununu has been supportive of the idea of a No Labels presidential ticket in 2024. The governor answered reporter questions during an impromptu gaggle before the No Labels event. “They are going to try,” he said of No Labels. The organization held its campaign-style event Monday in the Granite State, which has been the host of the first-in-the-nation primary since 1920. They know this is where the conversation is gonna be and they want to be part of this,” Sununu said.

CNN —The Republican presidential field is growing almost by the day, but no candidate has yet offered an effective answer to GOP primary voters on the race’s most compelling question – why they should ditch Donald Trump. Nikki Haley has been on the trail for weeks, appearing in a CNN town hall on Sunday in Iowa. No Republican voters will weigh in for at least six months in early state contests. There’s even less evidence that GOP voters believe that Trump’s legal problems disqualify him from serving as their nominee. In an NBC News poll in April, 68% of Republican voters believed that investigations into Trump were politically motivated attempts to stop him.

Since the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters, Christie has jabbed at Trump on numerous occasions. CNN —The first Republican primary debate won’t occur until August. But the 2024 presidential primary campaign is well underway. Here are the currently declared Republican presidential candidates, sorted by their place in the most recent CNN poll of the potential GOP primary electorate. But those investigations have been ongoing for years now, and it’s not clear any allegations will hurt his strength among many Republican voters. Like most GOP candidates, he will struggle to find oxygen in a field that so far has been dominated by Trump.

May 24 (Reuters) - Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Wednesday he is seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, joining former President Donald Trump in a growing list of Republicans seeking to unseat Democratic President Joe Biden. Here is a list of declared candidates and other potential 2024 hopefuls in both the Democratic and Republican parties. The former Kansas congressman was one of Trump's most loyal lieutenants and initially backed his false claims of a stolen presidential election in 2020. Several of his key staff, though, have recently joined the DeSantis camp, suggesting that Youngkin is not going to run in 2024. She ran as a Democrat in the 2020 presidential primary but dropped out of the race before any votes had been cast.

South Carolina GOP Sen. Tim Scott officially filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Friday to launch his campaign for president. The campaign finance filing is standard procedure for candidates for president. Federal campaign finance law states that within 15 days of referring to yourself as a candidate or spending a major amount of money, you must file your official campaign notice with the FEC. That seems to be what Scott was doing here, designating himself a candidate for president and naming his campaign committee "Tim Scott for America." Others expected to jump in besides Scott include Florida Gov.
A main focus of Trump's attacks has been Social Security - the federal pension system - and Medicare. I will always protect Social Security and Medicare for our great seniors." Today, party leaders and many Republican voters oppose reforming Social Security and Medicare because so many Americans rely on the programs. They are reliant on Social Security and Medicare and they worry about this stuff," Feehery said. INSULTS KEEP COMINGThere is so far no clear polling on how Trump's attacks on entitlement spending have impacted DeSantis.
Chris Sununu suggested Trump was "wimping out" by possibly skipping debates. The former president suggested that he may not attend some or all of the GOP presidential debates. Chris Sununu blasted Donald Trump on Wednesday after the former president strongly suggested that he may skip GOP presidential primary debates. "I mean, we're having debates, but Trump says he ain't showing up," Sununu told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. It is true that Ryan leads the Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, which operates the museum that will host the debate.
Here is a list of declared candidates and other potential 2024 hopefuls in both the Democratic and Republican parties. Scott, 57, has launched a presidential exploratory committee but not yet confirmed he plans to run. The former Kansas congressman was one of Trump's most loyal lieutenants and initially backed his false claims of a stolen presidential election in 2020. She ran as a Democrat in the 2020 presidential primary but dropped out of the race before any votes had been cast. She launched her latest campaign on March 23, saying she wants to challenge Biden in the Democratic nominating race.
Growing Republican support for Donald Trump's re-election won't be enough, Chris Sununu said. On NBC, the New Hampshire governor said Trump is a "four-time loser" who has cost the GOP seats in Congress. "Donald Trump is a loser," Gov. Donald Trump is a loser. So, Donald Trump is positioning himself to be a four-time loser in 2024."
Florida Gov. "DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney," Trump wrote earlier this week. "DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney," Trump crowed on his social media platform Truth earlier this week. The Florida governor wanted to burnish his national image by torching Disney. And by gobbling up intellectual property and broadcasting rights, Disney continues to be virtually inescapable.
DeSantis ripped Disney repeatedly this week over its recent maneuvers to thwart the governor's efforts to seize some control of the company's Orlando parks and properties. Meanwhile, his handpicked board of supervisors overseeing Disney World's special tax district increased the pressure on Disney. The board took that step two days after DeSantis floated a range of possible actions against Disney World, including developing land nearby. That legislation, dubbed "Don't Say Gay" by critics, "should never have been signed" by DeSantis, Disney said in a March 2022 statement. The state's Republican governor and GOP-held legislature targeted the special tax district that has allowed Disney to essentially govern itself for decades.
Here is a list of major declared candidates and other potential 2024 hopefuls in both the Democratic and Republican parties. Political analysts say there is little benefit to him jumping into the race too soon, with the election still 19 months away. In the meantime, he can continue to look presidential, although he still has poor approval ratings in opinion surveys. The former Kansas congressman was one of Trump's most loyal lieutenants and initially backed his false claims of a stolen presidential election in 2020. Several of his key staff, though, have recently joined the DeSantis camp, however, suggesting that Youngkin, is not going to run in 2024.
Ron DeSantis' ongoing feud against Disney has drawn criticism for months. "I don't think Ron DeSantis is a conservative based on his actions towards Disney," Chris Christie said. DeSantis' political rival, former President Donald Trump posted Tuesday on Truth Social that DeSantis is being "absolutely destroyed by Disney." "I just don't think — it's not good for Governor DeSantis. I don't think it's good for the Republican party."

Haley made reference to Republicans who refer to the Ukraine war as a "territorial dispute." Some call it a mere 'territorial dispute,'" Haley wrote. The quote "territorial dispute" is a possible reference to a statement DeSantis made on March 13, when he called for an end to US aid for Ukraine. Prior to this statement, DeSantis had supported aid to Ukraine and later became defensive when a reporter asked him about his position earlier this month. New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu also criticized DeSantis using the term "territorial dispute" to describe the war in an op-ed for the Washington Post.
[1/2] Former U.S. President Donald Trump greets supporters accompanied by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds during a campaign rally, in Davenport, Iowa, U.S. March 13, 2023. Robert Costello has been asked to appear before the grand jury at the request of Trump's lawyers because he may have information that calls into question events as described by Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer, the source said. Cohen testified before the grand jury twice last week. Trump, who is seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, has said he would continue campaigning even if charged with a crime. The grand jury will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to formally charge Trump with a crime.

He did not cite any evidence for his arrest concerns and his spokesman said the former president had not been notified of any impending arrest. "It's building a lot of sympathy for the former president," Sununu, also a Republican, told CNN's "State of the Union" program, saying he spoke to some people on Sunday who were not "big Trump supporters but they all said ... they felt he was being attacked." Sununu, a relative moderate, is considering a run and appeared to be trying to avoid alienating Trump supporters. McMaster and former economic adviser Gary Cohn on Sunday both urged Trump supporters to respond peacefully to any developments this week.

A spokesman for Trump said the former president had not been notified of any arrest and Trump provided no evidence of leaks from the Manhattan district attorney's office. Asked if she was concerned about potential violence after Trump called on his supporters to protest, Senator Elizabeth Warren told ABC News, "This is another case of Donald Trump advancing the interest of Donald Trump." Warren said there was no cause for protest, as called upon by Trump, adding: "No one is above the law."
REUTERS/Jonathan Ernst/File PhotoWASHINGTON, March 18 (Reuters) - The U.S. should continue supporting Ukraine, former Vice President Mike Pence and New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu said on Saturday, a position that puts them at odds with the top two contenders for the Republican presidential nomination. Foreign policy has emerged as the main ideological fissure within the Republican Party as the 2024 nominating contest heats up. Both Pence and Sununu have defended Ukraine before, but their Saturday comments were particularly pointed and come as the Republican foreign policy feud intensifies. In a Washington Post opinion column, Sununu, the New Hampshire governor, went after Trump and DeSantis directly. Pence is running well behind Trump and DeSantis, vying for a distant third with former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, another Ukraine supporter.
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade praised Trump for having a "very disciplined message." "Since he went and visited East Palestine, stopped having lunch with white supremacists, and has got a very disciplined message," Kilmeade said. He attributed that, in part, to Trump not "having lunch with white supremacists" and visiting East Palestine, Ohio, after a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in the town last month. The reference to "white supremacists" is likely a nod to Trump's November meeting at his Mar-a-Lago resort with notorious white supremacist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and the rapper Kanye West, who now goes by Ye. "This is the most disciplined I've ever seen him," Kilmeade said of Trump, "even compared to 2016."
But Sununu, a potential presidential contender, predicted Donald Trump won't be the 2024 GOP nominee. Chris Sununu said he plans to support the Republican presidential nominee in the 2024 election, but he doesn't believe it's going to be former President Donald Trump. I'm going to support the Republican nominee," Sununu said on "Meet the Press" on NBC News. With Trump, Sununu said there are "very few people that are on the fence, whether they're with him or not with him." In response to that news, a Trump campaign spokesperson told CNN: "President Trump will support the Republican nominee because it will be him."
Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are top of mind at the 2023 Conservative Political Action Conference. CPAC participants suspect 2024 will come down to those two, while others vie for the VP slot. 'An interesting race'Rory McSchane, a GOP political strategist from Austin, Texas is in the more the merrier camp. "My sincere hope is that she would be the vice president," Yadeta said of having Haley round out the 2024 ticket. Should Scott wind up taking the plunge, Bencosme said she could see herself supporting him in the GOP primary — and possibly beyond.
