Yet he isn’t all that impressed with Obama, the nation’s first Black president, nor Harris, who would be the second. “He’s only gaining support with Black men.”Democrats have been unnerved by recent polls that show Harris’ numbers sagging among Black voters, particularly young Black men. At a pair of rallies in Tucson and Las Vegas in recent days, Obama drew thousands of cheering supporters, though the turnout among young Black men appeared sparse. He came to hear Obama speak and as he stood in line for the event on campus, he said he didn’t see Obama as a figure who would be especially influential with young Black men. Trump is a white 78-year-old, but he possesses a “charisma” that some younger Black men find appealing, he added.

Marissa Mayer recently reflected on Yahoo's struggles and eventual sale to Verizon. Mayer said Yahoo was simply too late to embrace the move toward mobile phones. TUCSON, Ariz. — Former President Barack Obama on Friday contrasted former President Donald Trump’s character to that of the late Sen. John McCain during a packed rally at the University of Arizona. “Being here in Tucson, I’m thinking about my friend, John McCain,” said Obama, speaking to several thousand Arizonans. “It required one more vote to keep it intact, and that vote was the late, great John McCain,” Harris said in the Phoenix suburb. “A great American, a war hero: John McCain. “Thanks to John McCain, he didn’t do it,” he added to thunderous applause.

Workers value remote work as much as a 7% to 8% pay increase, a new survey finds. Teleworking has increased, even as firms try to pull their workers back into the office. The push and pull between workers, their employers, and the office has been a years-long battle in the wake of the pandemic. And a new survey update shows how much remote workers value the ability to work from home — and what it may cost for firms to lure them back in. Remote jobs are becoming scarcer, and that's even led some workers to cling to roles they might not otherwise enjoy.

He said a Harris administration "will build on existing programs, increasing federal spending to make health care more affordable for people." Still, Socal said a Trump administration wouldn't have much flexibility to dismantle or scale back the law without change from Congress. The IRA extended enhanced subsidies that made ACA health plans more affordable for millions of households through 2025 — a provision Harris plans to make permanent if elected, her campaign said. A Democratic House or Senate would likely block any of Trump's sweeping changes to Medicaid, according to Altman. Vance this month also said a future Trump administration would defund Planned Parenthood.

The anxiety abated for a bit when Vice President Kamala Harris replaced him on the ticket and her poll numbers spiked. With Harris' numbers stagnant now for weeks, many Democrats are once again fretting that the election is slipping away and that Donald Trump may yet regain power. Harris appears to be OK with the collective jitters, recognizing that if Democrats fear they might lose, they're more apt to show up at the polls and help her win. Polling shows that neither Harris nor Trump has built a lead outside the margin of error. Claims that Harris is an underdog amount to “a liberal plot to get us overconfident on the Trump side,” he added.

WASHINGTON — In a combative interview with Fox News, Kamala Harris said in the most emphatic terms to date that, if she wins the election, she would pursue an independent presidency that would not be a repeat of President Joe Biden’s nearly four years in office. “My presidency would not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” Harris told interviewer Bret Baier, an anchor with Fox News. “And like every new president that comes to office, I will bring my life experiences and professional experiences” to the job. “I represent a new generation of leadership.”Harris’s declaration comes after she faced criticism over her recent interview on ABC’s “The View,” in which she could not identify any policy differences she’s had with Biden since serving as his vice president. Given Biden’s unpopularity in public opinion polls, Harris’s answer drew criticism that her tenure would be merely a Biden sequel.

Is that what’s going on?”Invoking Trump’s medical history may serve a particular purpose for Harris, reminding voters that they're a generation apart in age and that at 78, Trump is the oldest presidential nominee in U.S. history. Holding clipboards, Democratic campaign aides approached Harris supporters as they stood in line to enter the arena Sunday, inviting them to knock on doors on her behalf and to staff phone banks. A disc jockey kept Harris’ supporters entertained as they waited for her to take the stage, something of a campaign novelty meant to keep the crowd energized throughout.

But Pennsylvania stands apart as the state that top strategists for both Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump have circled as the likeliest to tip the election. There are struggling industrial towns where Mr. Trump needs to maximize his vote, and smaller cities booming with Latino immigrants where Ms. Harris aims to make gains. Mr. Trump won the county in 2016 by 19 percentage points, only four years after Mr. Obama carried it narrowly.
