One of two remaining co-defendants in Georgia's longest-running criminal trial was stabbed in jail, his lawyer said Monday morning, as jurors resumed deliberations in the sprawling racketeering case that had included rap superstar Young Thug. The case initially featured 28 co-defendants, including Young Thug, whom Fulton County prosecutors accused in a 2022 indictment of leading an Atlanta street gang, Young Slime Life, or YSL. (Young Thug founded his own label, YSL Records, in 2016.) Young Thug in court in February. Four of the six co-defendants entered into plea agreements, including Young Thug.

LUANDA, Angola — President Joe Biden will make history Monday as he becomes the first American head of state to visit the West African nation of Angola, where he will showcase U.S.-backed infrastructure projects designed to link three nations. The Coast Guard and a group of good Samaritans were searching for five people who went missing after a fishing boat reportedly capsized near Couverden Point, Alaska, the military branch announced Sunday. The crew aboard the roughly 50-foot fishing boat Wind Walker sent a mayday call that the vessel was overturning around 12:10 a.m. Sunday. At the same time, a ferry vessel called AMHS Hubbard overheard the broadcast and volunteered to help, the Coast Guard said in the release. The Coast Guard said people familiar with the crew of the Wind Walker reported there were five people aboard. The fishing boat originated just south of Point Couverden in Icy Strait off the southeastern coast of Alaska.
