My last serious romantic relationship was one of the most important relationships of my life. I was nervous when I told Cooper about my close relationship with Moses. The short relationships I had between Moses and Cooper made me extremely anxious about my friendship with Moses. It's unusual to remain in such close contact with an ex — especially one who wants to get back together — without a new partner feeling some pangs of jealousy. Before meeting me, Cooper was in an emotionally and financially stifling relationship where he felt prohibited from spending time with his friends.

New York CNN —Edwin Moses always loved the sport of track and field. For nine years, nine months and nine days Moses was unbeaten in races, winning 122 in a row. Moses’ journey on and off the field is chronicled in the new documentary, “Moses – 13 Steps,” produced by Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman. Danny Harris (right) crosses the finish line first to beat Moses (left) in the 400m hurdle race in 1987 to end Moses' 122-race winning run. After 2023's smash success of Greta Gerwig's "Barbie," Kreiz has become one of the most intriguing figures in Hollywood. Kreiz spoke with Business Insider on Wednesday about lessons from Barbie and how he's turning Mattel into an IP company. At a time of massive disruption in entertainment, Kreiz thinks Mattel is well-positioned. But "Barbie" established a blueprint for Mattel's future projects in working with top creatives, providing promotion power, and staying true to its brands, Kreiz said.

During Tuesday’s presidential debate, former President Donald Trump repeated unfounded claims that Haitian immigrants “are eating dogs and cats … eating people’s pets” in Springfield, Ohio. “The fact that Donald Trump wants to double down on something so ridiculous just breaks my heart again,” Smith said. The rumor follows years of insults hurled at Haitians and Haitian Americans, including unfounded claims of cannibalism, and Trump’s hostility toward Haitian immigrants during his administration. “I work every day with Haitian immigrants, and no one works as hard as them,” he said. “It’s really unreal.”On social media, Haitians have expressed disgust about the depiction, while others “won’t even entertain something so crazy,” Smith said.

The WGA won higher pay and residuals for its writers, provisions for minimum staff in television writers' rooms, and more, calling the agreement "exceptional." Advertisement"The conglomerates have the leverage," one TV agent put it. This model could lead to a show getting picked up, but it tended to use fewer writers than regular writers' rooms and pay them less. A third agent said some showrunners are grumbling that while mini-room writers' pay increased post-strike, studios kept the showrunners' pay the same. To hear agents, lawyers, and producers tell it, the Hollywood they're going back to is more risk-averse than ever. Think of the "Suits LA" spinoff of the USA Networks show that was popularized by Netflix, and shows with big stars attached to them. Even big stars are getting slightedThere's an overall feeling that Hollywood has become too risk-averse. But in the meantime, the dearth of shows being ordered will take its toll on Hollywood. "There's just some people who are not going to be able to survive this dark period," a second lawyer said.

While it might look like there's a flurry of advertising hiring, industry insiders say the reality is more sobering. AdvertisementLegacy media companies have sharply cut staff in recent years, including sales, and those jobs aren't coming back. Disney has said it plans to automate half its ad sales. "The number of good job opportunities are few and far between because the large media companies are not hiring as quickly. Reinhard parted ways with previous ad sales leader Peter Naylor in July, in Netflix's second ads leadership shake-up in two years. To get a sense of how Reinhard is approaching the hire, Business Insider spoke with 11 people who had inside knowledge about the search or who are close to Netflix's ad business. Others with those credentials who some insiders think could be in the mix include Pooja Midha, EVP and GM for Effectv, the ad sales arm of Comcast's cable division. "They view ad sales as having a lack of rigor and discipline," the first person who'd had conversations with Netflix said. Netflix also shook up its ad sales leadership twice, with its first ads leader Jeremi Gorman being replaced after a year, and then with Naylor's recent exit.

In today's big story, viewers are opting for free TV, and that's throwing a massive wrench in Hollywood's plans . AdvertisementBut first, what's on (free) TV? The big storyChanging channelsGetty Images; iStock; Natalie Ammari/BIIf the best things in life truly are free, Hollywood is about to learn a brutal lesson. But what's really caught people's attention over the past year has been "free, ad-supported TV" or FAST services. Figuring out how to make money from free TV is a big enough problem.

The basic problem: It's unclear how these free services could support new, Hollywood-style programming even if they wanted to. Now, with YouTube making the jump to TV screens and "free, ad-supported TV" (FAST) services having a moment, where does that leave Hollywood? Tech and legacy media will battle over free TV in the coming monthsLooking ahead, the major players already ahead in free TV will likely continue to gain share. Free streaming may seem like a way for Hollywood to claw back viewers. If not, it's hard to say what winning in the battle for free TV will actually get them.

Film and TV investor Content Partners just announced a new financing arm at a time when some institutional investors are fleeing Hollywood. It kicked off with a deal providing debt financing to Media Capital Technologies to support its backing of Lionsgate's film slate. Content Partners Capital (CPC) is targeting up to five deals a year of up to $100 million each in debt financing for film and TV companies. Lordo said Content Partners saw a void to help entertainment companies that are stuck in a financing bind, unable to get bank or private-equity backing. A researcher at the University of Edinburgh has discovered what he believes is the earliest calendar of its kind at Gobekli Tepe, an archaeological excavation site in what is now southern Turkey that used to be an ancient complex of temple-like enclosures. Dr. Sweatman said that the intricate carvings at Gobekli Tepe tell the story and document the date when fragments of a comet — which came from a meteor stream — hit Earth roughly 13,000 years ago. The comet strike, which the latest research has placed in the year 10,850 B.C., has long been a source of disagreement among academics and researchers. This is not the first time that Dr. Sweatman has been able to connect the impact of the comet to the site in Turkey, he said. In 2017, he linked the two in an academic paper in which he contended that the carvings at Gobekli Tepe were memorialized in the pillars, and that the site was used as a place to observe space.

Nevertheless, paramedics cleared Moses to return to training, which the suit alleges was a decision made to support the police. “Safety and well-being is a top priority for Denver Health and its paramedics,” the hospital said in a statement. The recruit soon said he could not breathe, became unresponsive and was taken to the hospital, according to the lawsuit. “If this had been a football game or boxing match, the head injury and losses of consciousness would have ended any continued participation or fighting immediately,” Moses’ lawyers argue.

The mummy’s “screaming facial expression” could be read as a cadaveric spasm, a rare form of muscular stiffening associated with violent deaths, implying that the woman died screaming from agony or pain, according to the study. However, a mummy’s facial expression does not necessarily indicate how a person was feeling at death, the study noted. Several other factors, including the decomposition process, the rate of desiccation, or drying out, and the compressive force of the wrappings, could all affect a mummy’s facial expression.
