While in office, Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York has been a frequent attendee of the Met Gala. "She has been coming to the party for years, and it is the one thing she cares about," the Met's former president said in an email. The OCE is a nonpartisan body, created by Congress itself in 2008, that investigates allegations of misconduct by House members and staff. The OCE also noted that they had obtained evidence Maloney "may have requested a Met Gala invitation, as recently as 2020." Maloney lost her primary after her district was merged with Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler's district.

AMSTERDAM, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Prosus (PRX.AS), the Dutch-based technology investor, said on Friday it has agreed to sell its Russian online marketplace Avito for 151 billion roubles ($2.46 billion), to Kismet Capital Group. The buyer, Russian investment firm Kismet, was founded by Ivan Tavrin, former CEO of telecoms company MegaFon. Several Western companies opting to exit the Russian market have taken significant financial losses in doing so. "Our goal has been to manage the sale of the business in a responsible and structured way," Naspers said in a statement. "We believe that this is best achieved through this deal.”Avito, Russia's largest online marketplace, has around 5,000 employees and 90 million users.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced on Friday next year's Met Gala theme: a celebration of the works of the late German designer Karl Lagerfeld. It is followed by the institute's annual spring exhibition, this year titled "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," which will be on view from May 5 through July 16. Lagerfeld spent the majority of his life in the fashion world, with his first designs debuting in the 1950s. This past year's theme, "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," focused on American fashion throughout the decades. Funding for this year's event comes from Chanel and Fendi, as well as from Karl Lagerfeld and Condé Nast.
