Tito Jackson, an original member of the hit-making pop group the Jackson 5, has died, his family confirmed Monday. NBC Los Angeles spoke to a family member who confirmed the death. Jackson was a founding member of the group of five brothers, along with Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael, who shot to fame in the late 1960s and 1970s with a string of hits. More than 4,000 people have descended here for the Future Proof conference , a vast social gathering designed to give younger registered investment advisors and other investment professionals access to what they want. What they want, apparently, is an intense desire to network with other RIAs and investment professionals and find ways to grow their business. Reimagining the financial conference Future Proof is the brainchild of Barry Ritholtz, co-founder, chairman, and chief investment officer of Ritholtz Wealth Management, and CEO Josh Brown. This is the third year for the conference, but Ritholtz and company have been doing conferences for 15 years. Ritholtz describes it as an ongoing project to reinvent the financial conference concept, which he says is "moribund."

The agency was commissioned within the Treasury Department, and the Secret Service was entirely focused on counterfeit money, a major problem of the day. Threatening presidents was not made a crime until 1917, the same year Congress approved Secret Service protection for the immediate family of a president. The Secret Service remained a part of the Treasury Department until 2003, when a massive government reorganization after the 9/11 terror attacks moved the Secret Service to the Department of Homeland Security. But the Secret Service is still tasked with fighting financial crimes. The entire Secret Service employs nearly 8,000 people for its protective and investigative missions, and it secures thousands of events each year.

CNN —Following a recent on-stage altercation between Jane’s Addiction band members Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, the rock band has announced the cancellation of their remaining tour dates. On Monday, the band announced in a statement posted to their Instagram page that they’ve “made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group,” therefore canceling the remaining dates of their tour. We hope that he will find the help he needs,” the statement read. Farrell appeared to yell at Navarro, then approach him and hit him before other band members and crew intervened. Jane’s Addiction were set to resume their tour in Toronto on Wednesday after they previously canceled Sunday’s concert in Connecticut due to the scuffle.
