☆ SolarEdge shares sink after company offers weak Q4 guidance

Shares of SolarEdge tumbled over 20% in extending trading Wednesday after the solar product manufacturer reported soft guidance for its fourth quarter amid demand struggles in the renewable energy sector. For the overall solar sector, SolarEdge said it expects revenue in the $275 million to $320 million range. At the time, Lando said installation rates for solar panels had declined though those rates typically increase during the third quarter. SolarEdge is based in Israel, but Lando said in October the Israel-Hamas war has not had an impact on manufacturing. The solar sector has faced headwinds over the past year as rising interest rates weigh on the demand for solar energy.

MEXICO CITY, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Lewis Hamilton claimed on Thursday that more cars than his Mercedes and Charles Leclerc's Ferrari were illegal at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin and called for a fairer system of post-race checks. Both teams accepted their punishment and blamed the sprint format, with only one practice session, and particularly bumpy track. Only four of the 15 cars that finished the race were checked for such a breach, however. "I have heard from different sources that there were many cars that had not been tested and were also illegal," Hamilton told reporters ahead of this weekend's race in Mexico City. "It's unlikely two cars (from the same team) are that different, so if one car is illegal, there is a high chance that the other car is," said the Briton.

The last to take the title on a Saturday was Brazilian triple champion Nelson Piquet in the 1980s. "When he (Verstappen) got through to second I thought I was going to be in a bit of trouble, but the pace was good. SUZUKA, Japan (AP) — Runaway series leader Max Verstappen returned to dominant form on Sunday, winning the Japanese Grand Prix and moving a step closer to securing his third consecutive Formula One drivers’ championship. The Red Bull driver, who missed out on the podium a week ago in Singapore, started from pole and held on for his 13th win of the season. McLaren driver Lando Norris was second, 19.4 seconds back of Verstappen, while his teammate Australia rookie Oscar Piastri was third for his first F1 podium. With Verstappen’s win, Red Bull secured this year’s constructors’ title, their sixth overall and second in a row. Verstappen increased his lead over Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez to 177 points.

The constructors' title was Red Bull's sixth since they entered the sport in 2005 and they did it at a circuit owned by engine partner Honda. "Max, that was absolutely fantastic," said team boss Christian Horner over the radio in congratulating Verstappen on a 48th career win and Red Bull's 15th of the season. Verstappen defended against the McLarens at the start, with Norris seizing the opportunity to pass Piastri and slot into second place. His final retirement ended Red Bull's 100% finishing record for the season.

"I'm very happy to buy her an airline ticket," Brown told Sky Sports television after Nicole Piastri responded to a jubilant McLaren social media post with the words "anyone got a cheap flight to Japan?" From struggling to score points, McLaren are now looking quicker than engine provider Mercedes, even if well behind in the standings.
