Meta is promoting its new app, Threads, with strong links to Instagram — but so far it is missing most of the app's biggest users.
Just six of the top 20 most-followed Instagram accounts have signed up to the Twitter-competitor app so far.
It also looks like @instagram is the only account to reach 1 million followers on Threads, as of Thursday morning.
That makes sense considering it's also the most-followed account on Instagram with 645 million followers, but the next six-biggest accounts are yet to appear on Threads.
Mark Zuckerberg said 10 million users signed up to Threads in the first seven hours.

CNN —The sartorial journey of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen remains a source of endless public curiosity.
These days, the twins’ wardrobe is more subtle — though no less influential.

Is that…leather?” Some version of this befuddled inner monologue ran through many editors’ heads as Kate Moss sauntered down Bottega Veneta’s spring 2023 runway in Milan.
From a distance, they were unmistakably denim and flannel, respectively.
Creative director Matthieu Blazy ’s sartorial trickery gave front-rowers a wow moment but was perhaps too subtle to dazzle those streaming the show on Instagram.
That outfit (see the shirt above, and Kendall Jenner wearing a version of the look below) embodies an aesthetic shift that’s sweeping the fashion industry.
Instead of buying trendy frippery to flaunt in social-media posts, stylish sorts are craving wearable clothes with subtle details like hand-stitched hems, carefully sculpted silhouettes or luxe textures—details that they, and anyone within a 5-foot radius, can appreciate in the moment.
CNN —As a nod to late designer Karl Lagerfeld’s penchant for pearls, Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala look was drenched in them.
So we wanted to just be dripping in pearls,” Kardashian said of her custom Schiaparelli ensemble on Vogue’s livestream from the red carpet in New York Monday night.
Her 2021 Met Gala look wasn’t any less provocative; she wore a “faceless” Balenciaga gown that completely covered her in black from head to toe.
Kylie wore a bright red custom Jean Paul Gaultier gown under an oversized red and baby blue coat, both pieces from designer Haider Ackermann.

Platform boots, hair clips, baguette bags, cargo pants—all have resurfaced in the last few years.
And so, inevitably, low-rise jeans have joined this piquant mix, disseminated by influencers like Julia Fox, Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, Paloma Elsesser and Kendall Jenner.
Teenagers crushing on this look often just buy oversize jeans and let them hang from their hips.
And therein lies a key difference between today’s iteration of the low-rise and its early 2000s predecessor.
Today, said Alexia Elkaim, the founder of the Los Angeles brand Miaou, a loose silhouette rules.

REUTERS/Mario AnzuoniLOS ANGELES, March 10 (Reuters) - Italian fashion house Versace made its Fall/Winter 2023 show a star-studded affair on Thursday, moving its catwalk from Milan to Los Angeles three days before this year's Oscars ceremony.
Held on the roof-top of the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, the open-air show was brought forward by a day due to a heavy rain forecast.
Gigi Hadid led models on the runway dressed in a black pencil skirt and power-shouldered blazer.
Versace offered denim trousers and jackets for more casual options.
European demand is deepening a shortage of agave, the prickly plant native to Mexico's Jalisco region that's used to make tequila.
Tequila prices have leapt.
Compounding matters, the flow to Europe of high-quality 100% agave tequila - which has to be bottled in Mexico - has also been constrained by the supply-chain chaos from COVID-19.
Michael Merolli, head of Pernod Ricard's tequila business, which includes Olmeca, said there were far fewer tequila brands in Europe than the United States, where the market was more mature and competitive, with new brands emerging every week.
U.S. A-listers like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kendall Jenner and Kevin Hart have all launched tequila brands in recent years.
Live shopping in the US is expected to become a $25 billion market in 2023.
Livestream shopping has been popular in China for over a decade, where the industry was estimated to be worth $305 billion in 2021, up from $63 billion in 2019, according to Coresight Research.
Virgile Ollivier, a cofounder and the CEO of Livescale, told Insider livestream shopping would soon become just as important for brands as social-media marketing.

But some industry insiders say the company's influencer strategy feels out of touch.
Trendy online retailer Revolve owes its success to influencers.
Revolve, which launched in 2003, has a strategy centered around building awareness through sponsoring events and experiences such as Revolve Festival, Revolve Around The World, Revolve Gallery, as well as short-term retail experiences and influencer trips.
But some influencer industry insiders said they feel the brand's influencer strategy has not matured as the market has.
In May, Marketing Brew's Phoebe Bain wrote that sending an influencer products with no strings attached was a successful influencer marketing strategy for some DTC brands.
Convicted Fyre Festival cofounder Billy McFarland was interviewed by British entrepreneur Steven Bartlett.
McFarland said he still hadn't seen the Netflix and Hulu shows about his disastrous party.
He told Bartlett he was still not ready to watch the documentaries.
Fyre Festival was touted as a luxurious music fiesta in the Bahamas and was promoted by influencers and models such as Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.
He told Bartlett he'd chosen the latter.

So I formed my horse training company for Hollywood productions, Four Legs on Set, almost three years ago.
I had no idea my horse training company would become such a great success.
If we're having a photo shoot, the production has to be mindful that horses need to shift their balance, and walk and move.
