CNN —French lawmakers will vote Wednesday on a no-confidence motion that is widely expected to oust the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, as the country grapples with a deepening political crisis and massive budget deficit. No government has been ousted in a no-confidence vote since 1962 and Barnier would become France’s shortest-serving prime minister in history. But it’s unclear how any future prime minister will find unified support in a divided political landscape and avoid being similarly toppled. This gridlock has made the government’s budget problems much harder to solve. The credit rating agency expects France’s budget deficit to reach 6.2% of GDP by the end of the year.

At the time, Intel was the world’s largest producer of computer chips, and its technology was housed inside nearly every PC. That means nearly two decades after Grove outlined his vision, Intel is a shell of its former self. And now, investors and company watchers are seriously questioning whether Intel can ever regain its industry-leading position, despite its importance to American chipmaking. And because ARM was ready with the technology, it quickly leapfrogged Intel as the mobile chipmaking leader. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger delivers a speech at the COMPUTEX forum in Taipei, Taiwan on June 4.

Snoop Dogg surprised his daughter, Cori Broadus, with a $1 million gift ahead of her upcoming wedding, the rapper said during a recent appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show." Snoop Dogg explained how he would take advantage of the gift if the roles were reversed. "If it was me, my wedding would have been $100 [thousand], and $900 [thousand] would have went in my pocket," he said. Although a seven-figure wedding gift isn't in the cards for most of us, Snoop Dogg's suggestion for handling a financial windfall — spending 10% on fun and saving 90% for the future — checks out, financial experts say. That goes for anyone who comes into any unexpected sum of money, she says, no matter the size of the windfall.

But that was a long time ago — all the way back in September — and a quite a lot has changed. What happened in the two-ish months between the Times’ story and today is pretty simple: Trump won reelection, obviously. Trump also welcomed his faithful “first buddy” Elon Musk into his inner circle, where Musk appears to be relishing his role as a kind of gatekeeper for executives hoping to snag an audience with the president-elect, per the Wall Street Journal. To be sure, plenty of companies are still committed to DEI programs, and not all executives are morphing into insufferable suck-ups.
