GOOGL YTD mountain Alphabet YTD Alphabet (GOOGL): The quarter from the Google parent was mixed . On one hand, we were pleased to see revenue growth acceleration and beats at Search and YouTube. For Alphabet to catch up in the AI race, it might be forced to invest more aggressively, creating an imbalance between revenue growth and expense growth. AMZN YTD mountain Amazon YTD Amazon (AMZN): This was a fantastic quarter that checked a lot of boxes for us. While AWS cloud revenue growth may not have accelerated as some optimistic bulls had hoped for, it stabilized.

HON YTD mountain Honeywell YTD Unfortunately, Honeywell hit a 52-week low in Thursday's terrible market. Moreover, guidance for the remainder of the year was mixed: Sales are expected to be better than we thought. Honeywell repurchased 5.3 million shares during the quarter, more than double the amount purchased in the second quarter. Additionally, for both the full year and the current quarter, earnings performance is being suppressed by pension liabilities. Qualitatively, continued volatility is expected but management believes they can deliver further growth, margin expansion, and cash growth "in line or above EPS growth."

This was positive to see and it's reasonable to expect a clean quarter led by aerospace, Honeywell's largest business. REUTERS/Denis Balibouse/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsOct 15 (Reuters) - Global demand for new business jets is expected to stay strong over the next decade, Honeywell (HON.O) said on Sunday, as the engine maker projected deliveries of about 8,500 new planes through 2033. Private aviation witnessed a surge in newcomers, both in users and buyers, after the COVID-19 pandemic lifted demand for private flying as the wealthy took control of their travel. The flight activity is anticipated to stabilize in 2024 and grow in 2025, according to Honeywell. New users in business aviation have also increased demand by 500 aircraft and 6% more flights over the next 10 years.

September has been unkind to stocks – living up to its historical reputation as the weakest month for the S & P 500 . Still, some Club stocks have been able to buck the downward trend since the start of the month — and none more so than Humana (HUM). The health insurer advanced 7.3% through Friday's close, putting it among the top-10 performing stocks in the S & P 500 over that stretch. In a year largely characterized by outperformance in technology stocks, health care has been one of the worst S & P 500 sectors . The stock entered Monday's session down more than 11% in 2023, the third-worst of any Club stock.

Eli Lilly not only reported a stellar second quarter, management was able to raise its full-year sales and adjusted earnings outlook as well. Though revenues were a tad short, earnings results were better than expected on a both a HAAP and adjusted basis. Constellation Brands' (STZ) sales and earnings results outpaced expectations. DuPont (DD) reported a good quarter prior to us initiating a position in the name. But the slight comparable-sales miss in North America prompted questions about the company's ability to hit its long-term targets of 10% to 12% revenue growth and 15% to 20% earnings growth.

The U.S. government is deploying trillions of dollars of stimulus money into infrastructure investments, boosting the prospects for a number of industrials in the Club portfolio. Club names Honeywell (HON) and Emerson Electric (EMR) might also grab some of the IRA's funding for green energy. Over its 1987 streak, the Dow climbed to 2,104.47, from roughly 1,895.95 — a gain of 11%. If the Dow were to finish higher Thursday, it would tie the stock benchmark's longest winning streak ever, which was in June 1897. Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust, the portfolio the Club uses for investing, owns just over a quarter of the stocks in the Dow. Honeywell 's (HON) 2.5% gain amid the Dow's 13-session winning streak is being wiped away by the stock's post-earnings slide Thursday. Microsoft 's (MSFT) roughly flat overall performance during the Dow's streak, squeaking out a just 0.2% gain, is due in large part to the stock's 3.8% decline Wednesday.

Shares of Honeywell (HON) fell Thursday after the industrial conglomerate reported disappointing second-quarter earnings and forward guidance. The segment margin, similar to an adjusted operating income margin, expanded 158 basis points year over year to 22.4%, edging out analysts' forecasts of a 22.3% margin. Quarterly results Along with strong numbers for its aerospace division, management said the outlook is the strongest its ever been. Though the safety and productivity solutions business remains pressured, we are pleased to see significant improvement in segment margin, even if it came in below expectations. Guidance On a full-year basis, these targets (see chart) represent slight increases at the midpoint, as the lower-end forecasts for sales, segment margin, and earnings were all upwardly revised.

Our four industrial-focused stocks — Caterpillar (CAT), Emerson Electric (EMR), Honeywell (HON) and Linde (LIN) — have all been gaining steam over the past three months. There are positive short-term catalysts for our industrial holdings including the U.S. government's commitment to infrastructure spending, global decarbonization initiatives, and industrial automation. For all these reasons, Jim said EMR stock has been "stuck in the mud." EMR stock also pays a healthy 2.5% annual dividend yield and is a real dividend aristocrat. The Club's take: Jim expects Honeywell's stock to go higher from here as the market broadens beyond a handful of tech stocks.

[1/3] An Air France aircraft, operated with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) produced by TotalEnergies, is refueled before its first flight from Nice to Paris at Nice airport, France, October 1, 2021. Sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, is typically made using biomass-based feedstocks such as soybean oil and used cooking oil. Honeywell said its process can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 88% compared with traditional petroleum-based jet fuel. SAF is typically two to four times costlier than petroleum-based jet fuel. The United States produces around 24.7 billion gallons of petroleum-based jet fuel annually.
Investors may get one share in the spun-out entity for every share of the parent company they owned. What's left of J & J will be focused on pharmaceuticals and medical technologies, which were responsible for over 84% of the company's total 2022 revenue of $94.94 billion. It underscores that once free of the parent company tethers a divested company can chart its own destiny. Those priorities may not have necessarily been wrong when considering J & J as the overall enterprise. We believe J & J and Danaher are poised to deliver two more examples.
Caterpillar shares turn around CAT YTD mountain Caterpillar YTD Dow component Caterpillar delivered a blowout first quarter. Caterpillar revenue in Q1 increased 16.7% year over year to $15.86 billion, exceeding estimates of $15.26 billion, according to Refinitiv. Better-than-expected operating margin of 17% was so strong, due mostly to manufacturing costs that were not as high as expected as well as higher prices. Bottom Line on CAT This was a very strong quarter from Caterpillar as business continues to benefit from pricing power that outweighs costs. Even with oil down in the quarter, Caterpillar continues to see a lot of activity and strength in new engine sales to customers.
MONTREAL, April 5 (Reuters) - Honeywell International (HON.O) on Wednesday will announce a first deal for its most powerful generator, which would power a European-Canadian startup's hybrid electric cargo airship. Multiple startups are working on electric or hybrid aircraft to meet aviation's long-term climate goals. Flying Whales would use four generators per airship. The French parent company Flying Whales SAS and its Quebec based subsidiary have raised 162 million euros ($177.57 million) over three financing rounds. The first flight of the LCA60T airship in France is expected in late 2025 with entry into service planned for 2027, Flying Whales said.
