A McDonald's social media director has denied rumors the company planted the "Grimace Shake" trend. The TikTok trend saw users faking injury or even death after drinking the limited-edition milkshake. Convenient as that was for the company, it wasn't a plant, a social media director at the fast food giant says. "If you think we planted the grimace shake trend, thank you. He said his first instinct was that he wasn't "sure we should jump in" to what had become a viral trend.

When asked how the Fed plans for the worst case scenarios on the geopolitical front, he first responded in Fedspeak. At every Fed policy meeting, he said, “our staff works up six or seven or eight alternative simulations,” he said. The market impact: The policy scenarios considered by the Fed are quite sensitive. Since the debut of the Grimace shake earlier this month, TikTok users have been excitedly ordering the shake, released in honor of McDonald’s character Grimace’s “birthday,” and then pretending to die on camera after consuming the purple beverage. They often dump the shake over their convulsing bodies, apparently signaling that Grimace, that bumbling bestie of Ronald McDonald, killed them. The Grimace shake, though, has become more infamous than beloved. In a typical “Grimace Shake” TikTok, an enthusiastic young person, Grimace shake in hand, will wish the big purple mascot a happy birthday before taking their first sip. When reached for comment, McDonald’s referred CNN to a tweet from Grimace: “meee pretending i don’t see the grimace shake trendd,” along with a photo of the purple one himself, eyebrows raised.

New York CNN —Months after Apple unveiled a privacy change that threatened Facebook’s core advertising business, the social networking company rebranded as Meta and shifted its focus to virtual reality. Apple (AAPL) on Monday unveiled its mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro, in one of its most ambitious product launches in years. On Thursday, just days before WWDC, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg tried to preempt the expected Apple headset announcement by teasing the Meta Quest 3. A string of jabs and a crisp right hand. Another assistant coach leaned on the top rope with a clicker in his right hand, and announced that Haney had just surpassed 2,000 punches thrown. Mr. DeSantis’s whirlwind trip abroad this week was meant to elevate his credentials as a statesman and heavyweight, while taking him away from the hurly-burly of a fledgling presidential campaign that he has not officially begun. But if Mr. DeSantis thought it would give him a reprieve from scrutiny, he was mistaken. But his words have been parsed and compared with those of rivals and previous presidential hopefuls. “There are people who will always be critical, but I don’t worry about that,” said Kenneth T. Cuccinelli, a former Trump administration official who now leads Mr. DeSantis’s super PAC. “He’s showing himself to be a guy who can go toe-to-toe around the world.”

Fetuses in the womb scowled after their mothers ate kale but smiled after they ate carrots, according to a new study of around 100 pregnant women and their fetuses in England. Thirty-five women consumed the equivalent of one medium carrot, and 34 women consumed the equivalent of 100 grams of chopped kale.
