Follow live coverage of the 2024 French Open todayNovak Djokovic has had surgery on the meniscus tear that put him out of the French Open, all but ruling him out of Wimbledon, which begins on July 1.
Djokovic played through his fourth-round match against Argentinian 23rd seed Francisco Cerundolo, but withdrew from his quarterfinal against Casper Ruud, the Norwegian seventh seed, the next day.
He said: “In the past day, I had to make some tough decisions after sustaining a meniscus tear during my last match.
Djokovic, a seven-time champion at Wimbledon, lost in the men’s singles final last year to Carlos Alcaraz.
