A onetime commodities backwater, congestion trading has become a growing business in recent years as the demand for electricity and volatility on the power grid in the US has soared. The financial category, which includes specialized power-trading companies, banks, hedge funds, and large proprietary trading firms, dominates the market, in part because the physical power firms typically operate in only one or two regions. He launched three congestion trading teams for the firm, including in California and Texas after those states introduced congestion trading in 2008 and 2010, respectively. Citadel, along with Susquehanna International Group and Tower Research, has been involved in FTR trading since the market's infancy. Volatility has been increasing on the power grid, in part because of changing weather patterns, Jeev added.

In fact, I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, a red state surrounded, by very religious people — many Southern Baptist. Many of us, however, were desperate to move out for better job opportunities and to grow our careers. The more populous places, like the capital Little Rock, are seen as a lot more diverse. There are typically better job opportunities there too, but those opportunities were very limited for me. It worked out, though, because moving to San Diego proved more cost-effective than the Bay Area.

The offer would see conglomerate Mitsubishi and mobile carrier KDDI jointly manage the convenience store chain, with each owning a 50% stake. This represents a 16% premium to Lawson's closing share price of 8,913 yen on Tuesday, valuing the offer at about 500 billion yen ($3.4 billion). KDDI currently owns a 2.11% stake in Lawson, while Mitsubishi owns 50.11%.

There's an ideological gap widening between Gen Z's young men and women. Half of young men also believe they face some kind of discrimination, and less than half identify as feminists. Sharing the data, journalist and lawyer Imani Gandy commented on the pattern, saying: "YouTube algorithms are turning young men into sociopaths." "Women are going to rise up and women are going to take over everything and feminism is awful and women hate us," Stein said. "If you're being rewarded by the algorithm and by the platform you're creating on, you're going to probably keep doing it," she said.
