WASHINGTON, Nov 22 (Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration has cleared Boeing (BA.N) to begin certification flight testing of its 737 MAX 10, the largest version of its bestselling jet aimed at seizing the top of the narrowbody market. The FAA granted type inspection authorization for the 737 MAX 10 earlier this week, a milestone that allows FAA pilots to participate in flight testing needed to certify the plane for normal operations, three Boeing executives wrote in a letter to employees. The 737 MAX 10 is Boeing's answer to the A321neo made by European rival Airbus (AIR.PA), which has dominated the lucrative top of the single-aisle market in battles against Boeing's MAX 9. The MAX 10 has so far logged more than 400 flights and almost 1,000 flight hours during Boeing's test program. Boeing's MAX 7 - the smallest entrant of the 737 MAX family - is still awaiting FAA certification, expected by the end of 2023.

Powdered drink mixes that are widely promoted as “toddler milks” for older babies and children up to age 3 are unregulated, unnecessary and “nutritionally incomplete,” the American Academy of Pediatrics warned Friday. Also, toddler drinks are different than medical formulas prescribed for specific conditions, such as heart disease or problems digesting certain foods. Fuchs and other experts point to the lack of common standards for toddler milks, which means the ingredients vary widely among brands. The group also wants requirements to ensure the products are not linked to regulated infant formula or sold next to formula. A health group petitioned the FDA in 2020 to regulate toddler milks, but the agency is still reviewing the request.

While generative AI startups are attracting more investment overall, 2023 could be a notably slow year for venture capital investment in sports AI following several years of activity, according to new data from PitchBook. The year could mark the lowest level of investment in the sector since 2018 when PitchBook tracked just under $200 million in VC activity. Both those years had 114 VC investments, compared to just 54 in 2023 through mid-October, PitchBook data shows. There's a new top dog in US online gambling. DraftKings edged out rival FanDuel for the largest portion of online gambling market share in the US, according to a Wednesday report from the market research firm Eilers & Krejcik Gaming. DraftKings had amassed about 31% of online gambling gross gaming revenue in the third quarter through August 23, while FanDuel's market-share lead had dipped to 30%. But DraftKings' share has steadily grown steadily since, per the report. FanDuel, meanwhile, has fallen from a Q1 2023 peak of 37% online gambling share.
