About 165 million Americans rely on employer-sponsored health insurance and yet, workers may still not get the coverage they want — particularly when it comes to drugs like Wegovy and Novo Nordisk's diabetes drug Ozempic. One in three employees are looking for more resources to combat obesity, according to a recent report by consulting firm Gallagher. Glucagon-like peptide-1 treatments such as Wegovy and Ozempic, which mimic hormones produced in the gut to suppress a person's appetite, are considered game changers on this front. Already, prescription drug costs jumped 8.6% last year, due in part to a surge in the use of GLP-1 drugs, according to a recent report by Mercer. "It becomes a lifelong drug," said Gary Kushner, chair and president of Kushner & Company, a benefits design and management company.

Vice President Kamala Harris revealed this week that she owns a Glock — a weapon that is restricted for purchase in California amid a court battle over the state’s gun laws. The Harris campaign did not specify where and when she bought the Glock, which model she owns or which storage devices she uses. In 2013, as attorney general, Harris cleared the way for a new provision of the handgun safety law to take effect. Dig thisThe tree, which the study authors believe may have a biblical connection, is seen at 12 years old. Remarkably, the tree thrived and now stands 10 feet (3 meters) tall, although it has never flowered or produced fruit. Using DNA sequencing, the researchers identified the mystery tree as part of the Commiphora genus, but its exact species is unknown and likely extinct. Scientists aim to extract DNA from the remains to learn more about those buried there and whether they were related.
