DETROIT (AP) — The United Auto Workers union on Friday rejected wage and benefit offers from all three Detroit automakers, raising tensions just six days before a strike deadline for 146,000 employees. Union President Shawn Fain told workers in a Facebook Live appearance that he filed proposals from Ford, General Motors and Stellantis in a wastebasket. Stellantis offered wage increases in each year of a new four-year contract totaling 14.5%. To handle inflation, Ford offered cost of living pay that he called severely deficient, while GM and Stellantis offered lump sums. All companies kept tiers of wages for factory workers but lowered the number of years needed to reach full pay, he said.

In March 2020, Kristin Harmel was gearing up for the paperback publication of her 11th novel, “The Winemaker’s Wife.” Then the world came to a grinding halt (and many of us who aren’t married to a winemaker wished we were). “We called it our Oh Hey Rosé Zoom,” she said in an audio-only interview. “We all had a glass of wine and got on the Zoom together.”On April 15, 2020, Harmel and a handful of those novelists hosted a Facebook Live for their fans. “This community we thought was going to be a few hundred people has now grown to 170,000 members,” Harmel said. By the time I woke up the next morning, I think there were at least 2,000 comments and probably 700 or 800 emails in my inbox.”

Now Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg say they want to settle their scores in a cage fight. Twitter owner and Tesla (TSLA) CEO Musk recently tweeted that he would be “up for a cage fight” with Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta. A spokesperson for the company told Verge: “The [Instagram] story speaks for itself.”It remains unclear whether Zuckerberg and Musk are serious or having a laugh. Quite who would win in a cage fight, however, remains to be seen. Musk is physically bigger than Zuckerberg, but the Meta chief practices jiu-jitsu, the Brazilian martial art, and won gold and silver in a tournament in May.

Elvis Francois told Insider on Saturday he'd heard from many people that Heinz was trying to find him, but he didn't have a phone.
