At a local store called Thirst, she tried a classic dirty soda combination: Dr Pepper with coconut cream and a raspberry syrup. Dirty soda is a non-alcoholic drink combined with creams, flavored syrups or fruit. What surprised Myrick the most about dirty soda shops was the sheer quantity of choices. Global chip stocks rallied on Thursday after U.S. memory semiconductor maker Micron posted revenue guidance that topped expectations and boosted its share price. SK Hynix and Micron are both suppliers of memory chips to Nvidia's products designed for artificial intelligence processes in data centers. HBM chips are seen as key for AI. Grubhub-owner Just Eat Takeaway.com said Thursday it had partnered with sex toy retailer Lovehoney Group, in an unexpected expansion into the so-called sexual wellness sector. Shares of Just Eat Takeaway.com climbed 2% Thursday, above the pan-European Stoxx 600 index's 1% gains. The firm's shares are down around 1% over the last 6 months amid a broader decline in food delivery stocks. This is the first big-name partnership of a takeaway delivery company with a sex-toy retailer, however. Just Eat bought Grubhub in June 2020, expanding the company's company's from Europe across the United States and Canada.

Klarna will be included as an option across more than 450,000 Adyen payment terminals in brick-and-mortar locations as a result of the deal, according to the companies. Klarna's buy now, pay later, or BNPL, service allows users to spread the cost of their purchases over a period of interest-free installments. Earlier this year, Klarna sold Klarna Checkout, the company's online checkout solution for merchants. The recently elected U.K. Labour government is expected to set out plans for buy now, pay later regulation soon.

Investors should stay away from overvalued U.S. stocks in 2025, fund manager Sean Peche has cautioned. The value investor at Ranmore Fund Management told CNBC's Silvia Amaro on CNBC Pro Talks about where he sees undervalued stocks and opportunities, especially now the U.S. Federal Reserve has cut interest rates. Pesh highlighted his fund's holdings, including Carrefour , Petrobras , Alibaba , and Baidu as value plays. Peche, who set up Ranmore Fund Management in 2008, also shared some of the worst trades of the year, as well as his most successful yet. Since inception, the fund has gained 10.9% on an annualized basis, slightly more than the 10.6% posted by its MSCI benchmark.

CNN —Donald Trump’s campaign has officially announced that the former president plans to return to Butler, Pennsylvania – the location of the first assassination attempt on his life this year – for a rally on October 5. “President Donald J. Trump will return to Butler, Pennsylvania to hold a rally on the very same ground where he came within a quarter of an inch of losing his life less than three months ago,” the campaign said in a news release. CNN had previously reported Trump’s plans to return to Butler on October 5. “During his visit, President Trump will honor the memory of Corey Comperatore, who heroically sacrificed his life to shield his wife and daughters from the bullets on that terrible day. Police in the northern canton of Schaffhausen bordering Germany said the so-called “Sarco” capsule had been deployed in a wood in the municipality of Merishausen on Monday. Willet was the only other person present when the woman ended her life, the spokesperson said. In a statement issued by The Last Resort, Willet had described the death as “peaceful, fast and dignified.”The Last Resort spokesperson said the woman had passed psychiatric evaluations prior to ending her life. It is the brainchild of Philip Nitschke, an Australian physician famous for his work on assisted suicide since the 1990s.

The proponents of true cost accounting don’t propose raising food prices across the board, but they say that increased awareness of the hidden environmental cost of food could change behavior. (True cost accounting also typically includes things like labor rights and dietary health, but here we’re focusing on environmental costs.) Large disparities between the retail price of food and its environmental costs are found in the proteins many of us eat every day.
