GLAAD, the LGBTQ media advocacy organization, has released its 12th annual Studio Responsibility Index tracking films released during 2023. Despite “a huge increase in LGBTQ characters who were front and center in their own narratives,” the study found the number of films with LGBTQ characters dropped in 2023. The survey looked at 256 films from 10 major distributors and their subsidiaries and streaming services. Those 70 films included 170 LGBTQ characters, of which 46% were characters of color, representing an increase of 6% from the 2022 study. If LGBTQ representation continues to decline in major releases, these companies will lose relevance with a crucial buying audience.

Dexcom shares sank more than 40% on Friday and headed for their worst day ever after the diabetes management company reported disappointing revenue for the second quarter and offered weak guidance. The stock fell $45.38 to $62.47 as of early afternoon, wiping out about $18 billion in market cap. Prior to Friday, the biggest drop came in September 2017, when the shares plunged 33% in a day. Dexcom held its stock market debut in 2005. With Friday's selloff, Dexcom shares are down almost 50% for the year, while the S&P 500 is up 15%.

A co-defendant in the case, Kristina Puzyreva, pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to launder the proceeds of the export scheme, prosecutors said, and she now awaits sentencing. Authorities seized around $1.68 million dollars in connection with the scheme, prosecutors say. The components the trio sourced have been found in seized Russian weapons that included guided missiles, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and battle tanks, with some of the components needed for Russia’s precision-guided weapons systems being used against Ukraine, according to prosecutors. “The defendants were aware of the potential military applications of the electronics that they exported to Russia,” prosecutors said in the release. “Goltsev responded, ‘happy holiday to you too my friend, we are defending it in the way that we can [smile emoji].’”CNN’s Devan Cole contributed to this report.
