Harvey Weinstein will not take the stand at his sex crimes trial in Los Angeles, where he is charged with seven counts of rape and sexual assault, his lawyer said Monday. Los Angeles prosecutors rested their case before the Thanksgiving break, following nearly four weeks of testimony from 44 witnesses. The trial in Los Angeles took on higher stakes for prosecutors after the New York State Court of Appeals agreed in August to allow Weinstein to appeal his conviction there. If it is overturned, his fate would hinge on the outcome of his Los Angeles trial. The charges against Weinstein in Los Angeles are two counts of rape and five other sexual assault counts.

Todd and Julie Chrisley’s attorney says the couple will appeal following their sentencing Monday for bank fraud and tax evasion. An attorney for the Chrisleys, known for their USA Network series “Chrisley Knows Best,” said in a statement that the couple is planning to appeal. But Todd and Julie are people of faith, and that faith gives them strength as they appeal their convictions,” family attorney Alex Little said Tuesday. Todd Chrisley was sentenced Monday to 12 years in prison, and Julie Chrisley to seven years. Additionally, as part of sentencing, both Todd and Julie Chrisley will have to pay an undetermined amount in restitution that will be determined at a later date.

Reality television couple Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced Monday to years in prison, five months after they were found guilty of federal fraud charges and hiding their wealth from tax authorities. Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years, and Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven, according to the U.S. attorney's office. The couple, known for their USA Network series “Chrisley Knows Best,” were found guilty in June of fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to defraud the United States by a federal jury in Atlanta. Their accountant was also found guilty of tax fraud for filing false corporate tax returns on their behalf, and Julie Chrisley was further found guilty of wire fraud and obstruction of justice. Meanwhile, Julie Chrisley’s lawyers claimed she had a minimal role in the conspiracy and asked she receive a sentence of probation, restitution and community service, the Associated Press reported.

Comedian and entertainer Jay Leno checked out of a Los Angeles hospital on Monday after being burned in a car fire earlier this month, officials said. The 72-year-old former "Tonight Show" host was seriously burned on Nov. 12 in his Los Angeles garage when a vintage car erupted in flames, his team said. Leno wrapped up a 10-day stay at the Grossman Burn Center and he'll continue with outpatient care for burns to his face, chest and hands. A smiling Leno posed for pictures with hospital staff on his way out, revealing some of his burns. Leno, host of reality series "Jay Leno's Garage," is almost as well known for his love of cars as his comedy.

Olmedo told the panel to come back on Nov. 28 and try again. It was an unexpected twist in the closely-watched trial in Los Angeles County Superior Court. He has also denied assaulting a fourth woman, identified as Jane Doe #4, who told the court she too had been raped by Masterson. LOS ANGELES — Actor Denise Richards was unharmed after shots were fired in a road rage incident Monday, a representative said. The incident was first reported by TMZ. TMZ reported that police were called after someone at the studio spotted gunshot damage on the Ford Shelby F-150 truck. The Los Angeles Police Department, which has jurisdiction in the area of the studio, said that it had no record of such a report and that no investigation was underway. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, whose deputies crisscross the area because they patrol nearby jurisdictions, including public transportation rail and bus lines, said the same.

Jay Leno has third-degree burns to his face and may need skin grafts after a garage fire where one of his cars erupted in flames, a source close to the comedian told NBC News on Tuesday. There was a fuel leak and gasoline sprayed on his face before a spark triggered the fire. Leno was burned on the left side of his face and his hands, said the source, who saw him on Saturday after the incident. He's receiving hyperbaric treatment, an oxygen therapy that "can accelerate burn wound healing," according to the Grossman Burn Center's website. “Jay is the kind of guy that is that likes to get up and go but they need to treat him," the source said.

Anne Heche’s estate has been sued by the woman whose Los Angeles home was destroyed in the car crash that ended the actor’s life. “Thankfully, (Mishele) and her pets, which she regards as family, avoided death that day,” the lawsuit said. The Aug. 5 crash, which caused a fire, was ruled an accident by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office. A Los Angeles police spokesman had previously said police were investigating the crash as a felony DUI collision. Mishele's lawsuit asks for at least $2 million, but the claim could be more depending on the total value of damages from the crash.

Jay Leno was seriously burned in a garage fire in Los Angeles on Saturday after one of his cars erupted in flames, the comedian announced. “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” Leno said in a statement to NBC News on Monday. Leno was working at his Los Angeles garage when a flash fire started in a car, a representative for Leno said. His announcement came after a fourth woman testified last week that he raped her twice, more than two decades ago after they had met on a movie set. Masterson is not charged with raping the woman, an actress identified in court as Jane Doe #4. Unlike the three women Masterson is charged with raping, Jane Doe #4 is not a former or current member of the Church of Scientology. Cohen made his third request for a mistrial after Jane Doe #4 finished testifying and was again rebuffed by the judge.

Beatty is not identified by name in the suit, which did include a detailed description of the actor. The actor is accused of taking the teen on rides and offering to help with her homework. The relationship between the teen and the actor, who was about 35 at the time, continued and turned sexual, according to the suit. The teen thought she “was involved in a romantic relationship with a movie star," according to the lawsuit.

One of the lawsuits filed against Travis Scott and Live Nation was settled with the family of a 21-year-old man who died last year following a crowd surge at the rapper's Astroworld music festival, according to the family's attorney. The attorney, Tony Buzbee, filed a lawsuit in November seeking more than $750 million on behalf of at least 125 victims, including Axel Acosta, whose family reached a confidential settlement. The lawsuit named the concert’s organizer, Live Nation, as one of the defendants. A source connected to the case told NBC News that Live Nation, not Travis Scott, is paying the settlement. Hundreds of separate lawsuits have been filed against Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, and Live Nation accusing them of negligence.
