A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of killing his father at a popular waterfall in Southern California, authorities said. Deputies responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon, according to a Saturday statement from the sheriff’s department. In a Sunday statement, the sheriff’s department said the man involved in the vehicle collision was the 19-year-old son of the victim. The case will be passed on to prosecutors with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges, according to the sheriff's department. CNN —One of two suspects accused of impersonating utility workers before killing a Michigan man and tying up his wife was taken into custody without incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Saturday, authorities said. Murray’s wife was tied up and her hands were duct taped before she called 911 Friday and told officials she thought her husband may have been kidnapped, the sheriff’s office said. “While checking the house to make sure it was safe, deputies found the husband’s body in the basement,” the sheriff’s office said. Body parts found in a freezer earlier this year after a Colorado home was sold have been identified as those of the 16-year-old daughter of the home’s previous owner, authorities said Friday. Five people are dead after a small plane crashed on Catalina Island off the California coast on Tuesday, officials said. Rome CNN —More than 180 people were evacuated Thursday from a Ryanair Boeing passenger jet after it caught fire while taxiing to take off at Brindisi Airport in southern Italy. A spokesperson for the airport in Brindisi confirmed there had been a fire that halted air traffic for several hours. Ryanair, the Irish budget airline group that operates Europe’s largest aircraft fleet, said all 184 passengers and crew were safely evacuated on the runway after Thursday’s incident.
