"The spacesuits that are being used now in the International Space Station by NASA are suits that were really designed in the '70s. Now the agency is turning to two commercial companies: Axiom Space and Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies , to build and maintain its new generation of spacesuits. Under the Exploration Extravehicular Activity Services Contract, or xEVAS, NASA is providing Collins and Axiom, along with a number of their industry partners, with up to $3.5 billion through 2034. Sen. Dianne Feinstein raised less than $600 at the end of 2022, according to new campaign filings. Feinstein, who is the longest-serving Democratic senator and would be 91 on election day in 2024, has declined to say whether she will seek re-election next year. But altogether, her campaign — conspicuously named "Feinstein for Senate 2024" — reported having just $9,968.56 in cash on hand. For comparison, Feinstein raised over $16 million for her 2018 race against fellow Democrat Kevin De Leon. Last year, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer publicly declined to say whether he was confident in the California Democrat's ability to serve.

Stripe, the fintech company once valued at $95 billion by private market investors, will make a decision on its plans to go public within the next year, CNBC has confirmed. Co-founders and brothers John and Patrick Collison told employees on Thursday that they will set a goal of taking the company public or letting staffers sell shares through a secondary offering, The Information first reported. The tech IPO market has been frozen since late 2021 after two record-breaking years during the Covid pandemic. In July, Stripe cut its internal valuation by 28%, from $95 billion to $74 billion. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has so far held back from supplying the tanks or allowing other NATO countries to do so. In total, IPO deal proceeds plummeted 94% in 2022 — from $155.8 billion to $8.6 billion — according to Ernst & Young's IPO report published in mid-December. As of the report's publication date, the fourth quarter was on pace to be the weakest of the year. The collapse of the IPO market has caused the pipeline of anticipated public listings to swell. MKM's Rohit Kulkarni is among the few optimists who think the IPO market could rebound later this year, spurred in part by the volume of private companies waiting in the wings to go public when capital becomes more accessible. According to Carta, 22% of companies, both private and public, reduced their valuations in Q3, nearly tripling year-over-year.

CNN —The nominees for the 80th Golden Globe Awards were announced on Monday. Mayan Lopez and Selenis Leyva, two of the stars from “Lopez vs. Lopez,” announced the range of film and television nominees as selected by members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Favored Oscars contender “The Banshees of Inisherin” led the film categories, with nominations including best musical or comedy film. It stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. The ceremony, which was not broadcast last January over controversy surrounding the HFPA, will return to NBC on Jan. 10.
