Big Tech companies are helping propel third-quarter earnings growth, but some analysts are less optimistic about a handful of names reporting next week. To help investors prepare for what is still to come, CNBC Pro screened FactSet data to find stocks reporting next week where analysts are losing conviction. Analysts have trimmed their earnings estimates by more than 21% over the past three months and 29% over the trailing six months. The only thing yet to slow down Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in his rookie season? The rookie left the first quarter of Washington’s game against Carolina with what the Commanders called a rib injury that left him questionable to return. Daniels was visibly frustrated, taking off his helmet and throwing it to the turf. Daniels, off to one of the best statistical starts to a career by a quarterback in NFL history, had enjoyed another sensational start prior to the injury, rushing for 46 yards on the Commanders’ first play from scrimmage. 2 pick in last year's NFL Draft, Daniels has thrown for 1,404 yards and six touchdowns with only two interceptions.

In a case separate from the hush money trial, Daniels was ordered to pay for Trump’s legal fees after she lost a defamation suit she filed against him. Daniels’ lawyer declined the proposal, Maddow reported. Daniels’ lawyer told MSNBC that they ultimately settled on $627,500 but she did not agree to remain silent. In May, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to hush money paid to Daniels. Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen made payments to Daniels in the final stretch of the 2016 presidential campaign.

Daniels, the Commanders’ rookie sensation, threw for 269 yards with two touchdowns and no turnovers Sunday, continuing one of the most prolific starts to a career by a rookie quarterback in history. In a battle of the quarterbacks, Chicago Bears signal-caller Caleb Williams reached new heights in his team’s 35-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Williams also showed off his skills as a runner, like on this 24-yard scramble in the second quarter. After a slow start to the season, Williams’ game has steadily progressed. Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has outperformed Williams so far this season, but the gap has closed considerably the last few weeks. After Sunday’s game, Williams has now thrown for 1,317 yards with nine touchdowns and five interceptions.

Are we living through another Lamar Jackson MVP season? The Bears defense has also been phenomenal and will keep them in games even when Williams will inevitably struggle, as all rookies do. Full disclosure: One of my bold predictions entering the season was that Rattler would wind up taking Derek Carr’s job this season. The bigger concern is the Saints’ defense, which surrendered 600 yards and 50 points and allowed the Bucs to convert 6 of 10 third downs. It doesn’t matter who plays quarterback — the Saints defense has to put up some resistance.
