SANTA CLARA, Calif. — All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out of this weekend’s game for the San Francisco 49ers because of his lingering calf and Achilles’ injuries and could be headed to injured reserve. McCaffrey was held out of practice on Friday, a day after experiencing pain in practice. He was then ruled out of the game Sunday against Minnesota after expressing hope earlier in the week that he could play. Addison had seven catches for 123 yards and two TDs in a win against San Francisco last season. In other injury news for San Francisco, defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos is set to play after missing the opener with a knee injury.

Analyst Andrew Percoco reiterated his overweight rating on San Jose-based Bloom Energy after it announced a strategic partnership on Tuesday with Nvidia-backed GPU cloud provider CoreWeave. Under the agreement, Bloom Energy will deploy its solid oxide fuel cells to generate power for CoreWeave's data center in Illinois. The analyst's $22 price target implies shares of Bloom Energy can jump nearly 44% from its latest closing price. It’s been the hottest summer on record to date for around 100 US cities from Maine to California. Nine were over the age of 65, the county medical examiner told CNN. At least 10 suspected heat deaths are being reported in Oregon. The region is still typically quite hot in July even without heat reaching record levels daily.
