PUEBLA, Mexico (AP) — A four-year-old giraffe named Benito arrived Tuesday at his new home in a large animal park in central Mexico. The 7.5-acre (3-hectare) enclosure at the Africam Safari park in central Puebla state already holds seven giraffes, including three females. At the Africam park, Benito will start eating leaves from the acacia tree, one of the favorite foods of giraffes in their native habitat in Africa. The trip to the Africam Safari park, which started late Sunday, took around 30 hours, less than originally expected. At the Africam Safari park, the giraffes live in a much larger space that more closely resembles their natural habitat.

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) — A giraffe named Benito started a 40-hour road trip Monday to leave behind the cold and loneliness of Mexico’s northern border city of Ciudad Juarez to find warmth — and maybe a mate — in his new home 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles) to the south. With temperatures in Ciudad Juarez reaching as low as 39 degrees F (4 degrees C) Monday, Benito set off in a crate strapped to the back of a flat-bed truck. Benito is being transported across Mexico to Africam Safari park in central Puebla state where the low temperatures are about 20 degrees F warmer than in Ciudad Juarez. So he was donated to Ciudad Juarez. At the Africam Safari park, the giraffes live in a much larger space that more closely resembles their natural habitat.

Frederick Wiseman’s transporting documentary “Menus-Plaisirs — Les Troisgros,” centers on a dynasty of French chefs who live and work in a pastoral region in central France named Ouches, some 65 miles west of Lyon. ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., (AP) — A fire broke out under the wooden Atlantic City Boardwalk on Wednesday right in front of the entrance to Resorts casino, melting part of its facade and burning the doors. But no one was injured and the facility was able to remain open, authorities said. “One of the biggest problems is the fragmentation of the forest,” said Luís Paulo Ferraz, executive director of the Golden Lion Tamarin Association, known by its Portuguese acronym AMLD. As the 7 a.m. light breaks through the canopy near the town of Minca, I spy a keel-billed toucan croaking from a mossy pine tree. A flowerpecker darts around a giant fern, and a pair of military macaws fly in formation overhead. About a dozen species of amethyst, emerald and sapphire hummingbirds hover like bejeweled drones over a marmalade bush. In just 30 minutes, we’ve already seen more than 20 species, most of them “lifers” to me—i.e., birds spotted for the first time.

Investor events this week from Club holdings Constellation Brands (STZ) and Starbucks (SBUX) left shareholders like us bullish on the path forward for both beverage makers. Beer producer Constellation Brands provided a business update on Thursday during an event for investors at which management outlined its strategic priorities to foster ongoing growth. The company called its beer business, which includes bestselling brands like Modelo Especial, Corona and Pacifico, "the main driver of our strong growth." To address this unrelenting demand, Starbucks plans on building new stores with updated layouts, while "unlocking capacity" at existing stores. In addition to investing in its stores, Starbucks is also taking steps to improve the overall experience for its employees.

It looks like something straight out of science fiction. Which it is, in a way: it’s the brand new Chengdu Science Fiction Museum in the capital of Sichuan province in Southwest China. The museum was commissioned in 2022 to host this year’s 81st annual World Science Fiction Convention, nicknamed Worldcon. The Science Fiction Museum is part of a larger “Future City” development in the Pidu district, outside of the city. Known as Chengdu Future Science and Technology City, the 4.6-square-kilometer (1.8-square-mile) site will house multiple new universities, laboratories and offices.

A rare experimental Domino's delivery vehicle from the 1980s will soon be on the auction block. The vehicle, which has been restored, boasts an "aerodynamic body with a purported 0.15 drag coefficient," according to the listing. The average car, for comparison, usually has a drag coefficient between 0.3 and 0.4. The Tritan once included a warming oven in the back to keep pizzas warm during delivery. The arch on the back of the vehicle acts as a sail, Mecum says, which helps it get up to 80 miles to the gallon.
